Four Fun Cards

I was organizing my wood mount stamps this past week and downsizing my collection. Most of my PSX stamps made the cut, including this one named "Fuzzy Bear" which was one of the first stamps I ever purchased back in the late 90's. Made a simple card with a black, white and red color scheme. The computer generated sentiment, which I'd had on my computer for many years is the perfect fit for the card.

This is my first entry in the new Butterfly Challenge which focuses on the Letter A. My card features all of the options on this butterfly wheel: Colors [Amber/Almond/Apple Green] and Themes [Aperture/Acetate/Anything goes- I chose apricot ribbon] plus an amber colored Butterfly. The tag sentiment is computer generated. I left the inside without a sentiment because I'm not sure if I'll use this as a wedding or shower card. Am entering this card into several challenges including Bugaboo's BINGO [Top row- ribbon, Bugaboo image, and pearl] I provided close-up photos to show the pearl on her necklace and reflection on the acetate aperture.]

With another blizzard raging outside, the fourth in two weeks, I am longing for the promise of Spring. This beautiful image, from a Beccy's Place digi set named "Feathered Nest" provides that. I printed it on kraft paper and colored the sweet bird with Spectrum Noir markers, white gel pen, and white colored pencil. The wonderful vintage card behind the nest was in a small box of memorabilia that I found at a thrift shop a few years ago. The inside sentiment is from another of Beccy's digi sets named "Azalea."

A few weeks ago, I made several butterflies with paper scraps and a key charm. This is the last on that remains and I decided to put it on a card before I lost it on my cluttered desk. When cleaning I found the background card, which I sprayed with a can of gold "thread" many years ago. [I don’t remember the products actual name… mainly because it was difficult to use, clotting the spray valve repeatedly and then coming out in clumps. After making a few of these card backgrounds, I threw the can away.]  The inside sentiment is another option from  Beccy's digi sets named "Azalea." I am entering this card in several other challenges, including Scribbles Designs [Three or More Layers] and "If You Give a Crafter a Cookie" [the red flower background of the butterfly wings looks similar to the cookies with white frosting and tiny red flowers.

  5. I have that fabulous bear image too Kathy, and I think I purchased it at around the same time that you did. He's adorable and makes a wonderful card. Love the sweet little heart and the matching red ribbon.
Your bridal card is just beautiful! I absolutely love the "veil" you created. The apricot coloured roses and the detail along the edge... gorgeous! Great idea to add the acetate window too.
You did an awesome job colouring the bird and nest on your third card. Love the white flowers and the highlights here and there.
I really like the idea of adding a key as the body of the butterfly on your last card, what a fabulous embellishment. I see the wings are little hearts too. I remember a bit of a spray can craze in the 90s when they were putting all sorts of things in there. I had one that was supposed to give things a stone-look finish, but it sputtered and spurted so much that most of the gunk ended up all over me rather than the project I was doing! Very frustrating.
    Great collection of cards Kathy.
    Cheers,
    Beccy
