Santa's Wild Ride

For this week's challenge at QKR Stampede, I made a card using a QKR digi image (Q-digi13709 Roping Santa) that you can find at stamponit.net. The card actually went together pretty quick since it involved no coloring [which is definitely NOT the norm for this coloring lovin' crafter.] The background is made from a scrap of red bandana fabric [from my mom's fabric stash. She was a quilter so had quite the stash] and a piece of vinyl wallpaper that looks like embossed leather [found a roll of this beaut at the local Goodwill.] I decorated the inside sentiment with a few left-over scraps and the sentiments are computer generated.
PS Stop on by the QKR Stampede where the weekly challenges are always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded (qkrstampede.blogspot.com)
Am entering this into a few challenges including Simon Says Monday Challenge ["B" is for… Bandana] and Outlaws Monday Greetings [card includes red… and also how could I NOT submit this to a challenge at a blog named "Outlaws"?]

This card, created with an adorable free coloring sheet from Kate Hatflield Designs [katehadfielddesigns.com/freebies] was made for a few challenges- If You Give A Crafter a Cookie [lots of red and white to reflect the candy canes in the photo inspiration], Bugaboo Stamps Holiday Chaos week, Day 2 challenge- Recipe [I chose the first "ugly sweater" requirements: two layers, polka dots and color red. Am hoping that the two layers doesn't include the card base?] and the current Coffee Lovers Blog Hop [lots of coffee cups in this cute image.] The inside sentiment is a freebie from TLC Creations (createwithtlc.blogspot.com)

The Butterfly Challenge is doing something fun in December for Christmas, hence the letter "X" [for Xmas. Oh, and here is a neat factoid- X represents the Greek letter for Christ. So, Xmas is actually an appropriate abbreviation for Christmas!] For the challenge in December, instead of including a butterfly on our cards, we are to include a fairy, elf or pixie and the theme can be anything we want. Once again, I am using my Penny Black Fairy Sweet Clear Stamp Set to make this card. [I used to earlier this week and a stamping friend commented that the fairy looked like a Mo Manning design. So I did some research and found out that it is one of Mo Mannings little cuties. I'm figuring that Penny Black must have a license with Mo to sell her sweet images.]. Made this card with a gate fold [so can enter it into the Outlawz Thursday Challenge]. The sentiment on the front is from the Fairy Sweet stamp set and the inside sentiment is computer generated.

  4. P.s. Just read your brilliant idea of reinforcing the back of an image before fussy cutting. Now why on earth didn't I think of that.!! Too busy chasing Ducks.!!! Hugs Mrs A.
