GDT at CCC!

A few months ago I applied to be a Guest Design Team member at the Colour Crazy Challenge and was a thrill to be invited for a three-month gig.  One thing I love about their challenge is that it requires that the images used are not pre-colored. Since I love to color this seemed perfect for me and I'm looking forward to working with the amazing design team. My first card as a Guest DT member is a fun one made with a digi image from Polkadoodles named "Ruby Birthday Cake" [www.polkadoodles.co.uk]
I cropped the image down and colored her with Spectrum Noir markers. Added some texture and elegance with the decorative edge of a plastic tablecloth plus a few scraps of vellum. [I actually found the plastic tablecloth at a hardware store by the yard like you find fabric in a quilt store. So funny. And it was super cheap. So neat.] The sentiments are both freebies from Decosses Dynamite Doodles [decossesdynamitedoodles.blogspot.com]

For this week's challenge at QKR Stampede I made a card using two QKR digi images (Q-digi8717 Merry Christmas and Q-digi8712 The Reason) that you can find at stamponit.net. I usually do lots of coloring on my cards. But for this one, I decided to focus on just the sentiments, which speak for themselves.  Created a background with a few strips of patterned papers plus added a wee bit o' bling and the simple card was complete. Was a great reminder that I CAN make a card in less than 20 minutes and with little coloring and no fussy-cutting. [The bling is added with red rhinestones and some "shading" on the calligraphy lettering with a sparkly silver Gelly Roll pen. [I provided a few close up pics to show these details.]  PS Stop on by the QKR Stampede where the weekly challenges are always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded (qkrstampede.blogspot.com)

Wanted to make a card for the Outlawz Saturday Paper Ala Mode Challenge with the theme "Warm Winter Wishes" and this clear stamp set from Lawn Fawn named "Winter Fox" is the perfect fit. Am also entering the card into a few challenges that require a decorative edge. Am hoping that this card qualifies, even though the decorative edge is not on an outer edge. I used a strip of paper ribbon as a stencil and sponged ink to create the rich brown double edging. After coloring the image with Spectrum Noir markers I layered it on an upcycled card front and attached it to a gatefold A2 card. Decorated the inside sentiment, which is from a Beccy's Place digi set named "Lamb of God", with scraps of paper and red rhinestones. Added the final touch to the card front by making holly leaves from one of the leftover paper scraps and rhinestones.
