Baby Boomer Music

It's Wednesday! So time for another challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge Blog.  Penny's challenges are always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded from one or more sponsors.  Stop by the blog to check it out! (pennyschallenges.blogspot.com)
This week, I used a digi from one of the challenge sponsors, Dr. Digi, named "Davey Dunderton UK Tour. " I kept the background image white, just adding a grey shading, so that the old rocker, Davy Dunderton, would stand out when colored with Spectrum Noir markers. I printed off a separate copy of the guitar and hands, colored and fussy-cut it before attaching with foam tape to make it pop. [You can see that in the close-up photo.] Chose a bold print with a Flower Power feeling from my background paper stash for the base of the card. But the most fun was creating the inside of the card. When I first saw this image I remembered reading an email years ago about funny songs for Baby Boomers. I googled and found several dozen copies of the remembered item. I tried to find the original and finally located one from March 2005 [www.dslreports.com/forum/r12994526-OT-Joke-Song-titles-of-the-60-s-revised-for-baby-boomers] Used several of the song titles to create my computer generated sentiment. My old geezer hubby loved it… hope you do, too.

Still making a few Christmas cards. This one includes a trio of cute little elves from Maria Mendel Illustrations named "Funny Elves."  I colored them with Spectrum Noir markers, cut and mounted them onto a gatefold card. The crosshatch B&W background strips are upcycled from the inside of an envelope and the sentiments are computer generated [except the Merry Christmas sentiment on the inside is from a Bugaboo digi set named "Reindeer Blocks."]

The Butterfly Challenge in December has a fun twist. Instead of including a butterfly on our cards, we are to include a fairy, elf or pixie and the theme can be anything we want. For this card, I am using a sweet digi and sentiment form free  set at Tiddly Inks named "Willow the Greeting Fairy." [find it here- tiddlyinks.com/digital-stamps/willow-the-greeting-fairy-digital-stamp] The stars are cut from yellow vellum adding a bit of translucency to the card.
