Pastels and YIKES

I wanted to make one more card for the "Going Girly" challenge at The Cutie Pie Challenge and 'Hello Cupcake' from Lili of the Valley seemed like the perfect fit for this theme. The front and inside sentiments are both from a Whimsy stamp digi set named "Vintage Sentiments"  and the lovely purple doily is from JoAnne [package of 20 for a buck. Couldn't pass up on that deal!]

The current Wednesday  challenge at wecraftcards Forum is called "All Washi Tape." And the instructions were to make washi tape be a primary focus on the card. I discovered that I had quite a few rolls [which I seldom use] so was fun to…well… use them! Added a little Hero Arts spider, adhered a red rhinestone to its back, and attached some unique stickers to spell out "boo" and "ick." I had planned to use "Yikes" but didn't have a "Y" so ick will suffice… and is also accurate. The inside sentiment is from an Inkadinkado clear set of Halloween themed stamps.

My final entry into the current Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Anything But A Card" is a decorated notepad. A friend sent me the cute notepad a short time ago. I loved the pink paint color chips and especially the fact that she had stamped the fun flamingo on the front of it. I decided to bling it up for this challenge. I added shading- with two grey Spectrum Noir markers- and highlights- with a white gel pen. Then cut a small slit into the image to attach a few pink feathers. The feathers were much too unruly, so I trimmed them… perhaps a little too much. [There is a reason that I go to a stylist to cut my hair. It's not a skill set that I possess!] Taped the feathers down on the backside of the cover to prevent molting [hate it when that happens] and attached a freebie sentiment [from http://paulaposts.blogspot.com/2011/05/one-million-cards.html] Added a few final touches of pink bling and this gal looks mahvelus!
