Three Holidays

For this week's challenge at QKR Stampede, I made a snow globe card using a QKR digi image (Q-digi14514-Birdhouse2) that you can find on stamponit.net. I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and a white gel pen, fussy cut and lay it aside. Made the snow globe (with a template from www.birdscards.com) upcycling the packaging from a set of stickers to make the wooden base and using snowy patterned paper for the globe. Created a snowbank with torn white cardstock and perched the little snow guy comfortably on it. Attached the sentiment [a freebie from www.birdscards.com/snowflake-easel-card] and finished the scene with puffy snowflake stickers.

This card, made with one of my favorite stamps named "Crazy Kitty" is from a company named Biblical Impressions. There is also a paw stamp that adds a wonderful 3-D touch of fun to cards. [These stamps are available from stamponit.net the company that also sells QKR stamps.] I stamped the images with black pigment ink and embossed them with fine black embossing powder to get a dark and crisp impression. Fussy-cut the paws and attached them with foam tape. The sentiment is computer generated.

Made a Thanksgiving card using an image from an old wood mount rubber stamp from Northwoods to enter into the current BINGO challenge at Bugaboo. It includes the bottom row- three layers, orange, and ribbon. Clipped the corners of the card and its layers with a seldom used corner punch and added some colored micro-glitter for a bit of sparkle. The sentiment is a freebie from thelatestfind.com/2018/09/free-fall-svg-welcome-fall.html

I recently discovered a new challenge, Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration & Challenge. I've admired Ching-Chou's drawings of beautifully haunting ladies on several challenges and finally visited her blog. Discovered that the blog is giving away a free image in honor of its 4th Birthday for everyone who entered the current challenge, a Halloween themed one. So I purchased one of Ching-Chou's images. It wasn't easy to decide on an image but finally decided on one called "So Long Yesterday" that included butterflies AND that I could repurpose into a Halloween card by replacing the butterflies with bats. The sentiments are both freebies from TLC Creations (createwithtlc.blogspot.com) I added tiny red rhinestones to the bats eyes on the inside of the card to up the spooky factor.
