Misc. Themes

Made a tag using two freebies, Beccy's Place digi image, Wine Bottle and Wedding Rings" [beccysplace.blogspot.com/2010/01/printable-5.html] and a fun sentiment [from thedecoratedcookie.com]. A scrap of background paper and two bits of sheer ribbon finish the tag.

I love this sweet image by Kinda Cute named "Boy in Snow" but changed it up a bit to make a boy in leaves theme. Used some leaf background paper, muted by a layer of vellum, plus several mini-leaves and a hand-lettered sentiment. The final touch was to add a few "movement lines" to the leaves since the little guy is happily tossing them into the air as he leaps for joy.

The Paper Shelter's current challenge is named "Time to Celebrate." For this card I'm taking some liberty with that theme… making a Halloween card because… well… who doesn't enjoy a day where you get to celebrate with tons of mini-candy bars? [If I wasn't typing I'd have both hands up in the air right now!] I enjoy repurposing stamps, which is why the ogre from the digi set named "The Fancy Dinner" is trick-or-treating on my card. I used both the ogre and background images from the set [changed the background colors to grey scale so that the ogre would stand out a bit more in all his green-ness! The sentiments on the inside of the card are from a Whimsy Stamp set named "Autumn Witch with Floral Banner" that was a freebie for newsletter members this month.  The plastic pumpkin and candy stash are both clipart [found at https://clipartxtras.com]  You can't really see the details in either photo, but I covered the image with clear tape to give it a plastic look and added a real wire handle.

I added this fun digi named "Gertrude Eat More Pie" to my collection after winning a recent Bugaboo challenge. I cut the image apart to create sentiments for both the front and inside of the card. Had fun creating "pie crust" around the image on the front of the card. And now… I'm craving pie. Darn.

  4. Wonderful creations Kathy, you've sure been busy! The tag you created is lovely and would look great hanging from a bottle of wine to gift to someone. You did a great job with the colouring, I particularly like the stippled border around the bottle.
The boy playing in the fall leaves is great, what a happy looking card. I think most of us can relate to that carefree feeling of being a child... even if we have to cast our memory back a-ways!
I love what you've done with the ogre set, what a clever way to extend the images and you've done it so seamlessly. He's a fabulous looking character.
Thank you for the excellent advice on your last card, I shall do my best to remember it.
    Well done Kathy!
    Cheers,
    Beccy
