Four for Thursday

I used the Hero Arts Stamp and Cut Butterfly clear stamp set to make my final card for the current Butterfly Challenge that focuses on the Letter B.  My card includes the color Burnt Orange and the theme Border [which I cut with a decorative scissors.] The sentiment on the front it a freebie from paulaposts.blogspot.com/2011/08/clean-and-simple.html and the inside sentiment is from the same Hero Arts set as the butterfly.

Made another Pinks and Greys card for the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge. Using the "You Are Enough" image from artist Tammy Tutterow. [You can find it here-
www.tammytutterow.com/free-coloring-page-you-are-enough] This time I printed the image onto vellum, colored it with pinks and greys, and mounted the image onto an A2 card with pink polka dots. The final touch was to add black photo corners.

The Monday challenge at wecraftcards Forum this week was to make a diaper fold and add it to the front of a card. I was surprised at how easy it was to do this fold and it makes a wonderful treat pocket! Think I'll be using this fold for treat cards for the office. Since I need to make about of them, simple is good.  The coffee cup and little leaves are from a Verve digi set named "Coffee Please." I printed them off on a tan colored cardstock and colored them with Spectrum markers and white colored pencil before fussy-cutting then and attaching to the card. The sentiment is a freebie from TLC Creations (createwithtlc.blogspot.com)
I'm going to add a gift card for a local coffee shop in the pocket, but didn't have one on hand. For now… a yummy local restaurant gift card is holding it's place [but it will be disappearing soon as I'm craving a nice plateful of Nachos. [Oh and here is the Here is the site with directions for the diaper fold- www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nu3AOFcdk8Q]

I love this sweet image named "Ghost Peeker" from Bugaboo. I printed the image on vellum, colored the back of the candy corn with Spectrum Noir markers, then traced the candy corn onto a scrap of white paper to make the colors of the candy corn stand out. The background is a page from a coloring book that I covered with a sheet of vellum so that it didn't overwhelm the little ghost. And the "Boo" sentiment was upcycled with letters cut from a damaged scrapbook page. [Who knew that the word "Football" could so easily become a scary word? My mother-in-law who once told me that she was always anxious going to my hubby's football games when he was in high school because he suffered several injuries. I'll be some of you football moms would agree?] Lastly, the Happy Halloween sentiment inside of the card is a freebie (find it here- birdscards.com/teenween-card-first-posted-thursday-october-29-2009)

  13. Very cute cards. We are so blessed you link your artwork with us last Challenge at Word Art Wednesday. There still a few days left for you to join us again in our current Challenge. Leaving you with the inspiration of the Scripture in 1 Thessalonians 2:13 which says, "And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe." Have a blessed day!
