Odd Assortment of Cards

I needed one more Masculine card for the Monday Simon Says Challenge and decided to make an "Ode to Elvis" card! In truth, there was no stamping in this card, but some fussy-cutting and web research (to find a photo of the Elvis stamp.) Had the bit of music left over from my short stint in scrapbooking, and the sentiment, which I think is rather funny, was created and printed off my Moi! (When you read it you did an Elvis drawl, didn't you?!)

I won this wonderful digi from Bugaboo last month and finally found some time to play with it. It's called "Alligator Balloon" and I had fun printing off several to color during June's 30 Day Coloring Challenge from the Daily Marker. (I added a close up to show you that you'll be seeing more of this guy in the future!) I printed several off on light green cardstock to add a bit more depth to the finished product. This is one that was printed on light green. And the new Saturday Sketch provided a perfect layout to show off this cute critter. I also provided a close up of the alligator so that you could see my attempt to add scaling by dotting the finished coloring with a blender pen. Add kind of a neat looking texture!

My final card this posting is an adorable digi from Craftin DeserttDiva named "Cute Chick." I decided to create a summer mood to match the June Mood Board. The beachy background is a section of an upcycled calendar (I have a shelf full of them from which to choose since lots of people save them for me), I darkened her glasses, added pink rhinestones to them, and gave her a pink lemonade Icee to enjoy. (In the close up you can kind of see that I added some highlights to the Icee with my white gel pen, cut a "bite" out of it, and added a plastic "sleeve" for realism.
