Made the background for this card by adhering scraps from an old South Dakota map on the bottom of an A2 card front. Stamped a Stampendous trio of tree images across the center of the card (to mimic the center stripe on the sketch), then added little clouds cut from cardstock with yellow vellum sun rays. Colored the digi image, named Loads of Love from Little Scraps of Heaven, with Spectrum Noir markers then used a square stencil to create a frame. Mounted on a square of brown cardstock and then attached both to the card. Created the sentiments (front and inside) on my computer.

This sweet image and sentiment was a gift from a2zscrapbooking to participants in the recent Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. It named Sweet Tea and is now just 99¢ from www.etsy.com/shop/a2zscrapbooking I used brown vellum for the "tea" and held the color scheme to golden toned colors to be able to enter the a2zscrapbooking monochromatic challenge.

I love the Twofer card challenge because it helps me to stretch the versatility of my stamps and supplies, as it requires that I use the exact same stamp to make two distinctly different designs for two different occasions! This month I used a favorite stamp from Stampscapes (that I've had since 2001) to create a Christmas card and a Thinking of You card. The sentiment and little cardinal are from Stampendous and the sweet little butterfly is an old stamp from Hero Arts. I added clouds to the summer sky with sponged chalk and a hand-cut stencil. The white trees on the Christmas cards were made with a white pigment pad and white embossing powder.

ReplyDeleteYou've made those majestic trees look so different on each card, Kathy ... the summer one is light and airy with those soft, fluffy clouds and sweet sentiment acting as the trail for the butterfly ... and what atmosphere you created on your Christmas card ... the frosty white embossing really pops against the wintery grey background ... that little cardinal is a great finishing touch! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)
