Beatlemania III

Last week (wecraftcards.com/forum hosted a Spring Crop named Beatlemania. The eight challenges were built around Beatles songs. It was a really great chance to try some new techniques and used some new stamps! I've spent the last week stamping up a storm, so will be showcasing my entries over several posts. This is the third.

Mr Postman- For this challenge you needed to reuse some type of postal supply - a canceled stamp, a used envelope, an airmail label, etc. to make a creation of your choice. I went through my stash to find things to inspire me for this challenge and hit pay dirt. The light blue background paper is actually the wrapping from a bar of ocean-scented soap. (It was heavenly to use!) It has a seashell stamp image and a "postmark" that fit this challenge perfectly. I had printed off a few extra copies of the Bugaboo Mermaid digi and sentiments that I used in the Yellow Submarine Challenge, plus found a cancelled stamp with a wonderful photo of undersea foliage and my card almost created itself. So fun!

Made a St. Pats Day card for the current Stella Sketch challenge at Bugaboo. (Am working on card gift packets for some upcoming wedding shower gifts and discovered that I didn't have many Spring cards left!)  For this card I used Bugaboo's March Peeker digital image and rainbow scrapbook paper. The inside sentiment is a freebie from TLC Creations- createwithtlc.blogspot.com

Here Comes the Sun- (Or for the later risers like myself, it's here and waiting for me when I get up!) This was my challenge, and required that forum members made a card that included something to do with the sun. It could be a sunrise or sunset, a glass of sun tea, a sunflower, or anything else with that theme. I made two sample cards. The first, a cute turtle in sunglasses was a freebie from Little Scraps of Heaven a while ago. (I provided a close up of the Turt, cuz' that Dude is checkin' you out!) The sentiment is a freebie from Desert Diva (desertdiva-hannelie.blogspot.com/) My second sample card was made with a Tammy Tutterow coloring sheet and vellum. You can download it from tammytutterow.com (select "Project Gallery" then "Coloring Pages".)
