There
are three challenges right now celebrating Star Wars, since we just celebrated “May
the 4th be with you…” on May 4th. I’m excited to make
cards for these challenges for several reasons. Back in 1977, I was college Freshman who had just started
dating a gorgeous blonde sophomore, named Rich, and he invited me to see
a movie named Star Wars “on the big
screen.” Fast forward to 2025 and you’ll find Rich and I still kinda like each
other (actually, we just celebrated our 47th anniversary), and we both still love
Star Wars!)
For this card, I used a few wonderful, and
free, Star Wars related digital images, and several items from my stash. The
sentiments are computer-generated.

Supplies:
·
Clipart of Star Wars Logo Icon- Freebie found HERE
on www.freeiconspng.com
· Yoda digi- A freebie found HERE on www.rainbowprintables.com

I spent some time this last week cutting
lots of little squares and selecting/coloring images and sentiments to make
cards for the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers group (BYSHC)
Challenge on FB. This is my first card using the May sketch… and it is a cute
one! (Sadly the Gerda Steiner stamp set that I used is no longer available.)
After coloring the stamped digi, I sketched and fussy-cut small bulbs from
bright colors of cardstock, and adhered them to small circles of translucent color “glow”
cut from scraps of plastic document file folders. (Note-
If you follow my blog, you’ll know that I use these wonderful items quite often.
They come in a pack of assorted colors and can be found in the office supply
section of most stores, and occasionally in dollar stores. They're cheaper than
colored vellum and more translucent. Punches and dies don’t work on these
sheets, but they are easy to fussy cut with a sharp pair of scissors. And you
can use templates or stencils to trace shapes onto them with a permanent fine
line marker. You can adhere the plastic in place with small strips
of double-sided tape.) I also taped squares of the colored plastic behind the 8
squares that frame the sketch to add a festive touch!

I have many great-nieces who love mermaids,
so I never seem to have enough cards to fill the need! This one features a
Sweet November Stamps cutie named Coral Reefwater. She's happily secure in an
underwater cave, awaiting birthday guests to arrive with the decorations, treats
and especially the presents! (And it looks like a little seahorse friend is first to arrive!)
