I attempted to use watercolor pencils on artist Jan Mahew’s beautiful floral arrangement because I wanted a light wash of colors. Instead, I ended up with a muddy blurry image. I almost tossed it… but am not a quitter. So, after allowing the image to dry completely, I used my trusty white gel pen to add highlights and definition. (Oh, and I like the sentiment, which I printed as a “two-parter” so the punch-line could be on the inside of the card. So fun!)

This card was inspired by a sketch from the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Group {BYSHC} I found this great group on FB a few years ago and, although I don’t use sketches very often, I do like the ones that they offer. And I LOVE that they host Linky parties several times a year. (I don’t think I’ve missed one of their linky parties since I joined. They offer lots of wonderful prizes and the sponsor is so gracious and kind!)

I remember my son wanting an Iguana, so we got 2...and learned quickly that if they are not interacted with on a daily basis (and several times a day), they become quite MEAN. The good news is, we found them forever homes with a Reptile specialist. Brooklyn is going to love her card, Thanks for joining us at the Inspiration Station Challenge and inspiring us with your card.

Three fantastic cards Kathy, well done! I love the colouring on all... you always do a great job. I'm glad you didn't end up tossing the beautiful flowers, they are gorgeous. Great idea to wrap the lollipop in cellophane, and I'm very impressed that you were able to fussy cut that bow! I think I would have been crossed-eyed by the end of it.
ReplyDeleteLove the lizard card and I'm sure your great-niece will get a kick out of it. Bearded dragons are from Australia and we have lots of them running around our property here. Did you know they actually wave their arm to show submission? It's quite a sight!
Cheers,
Beccy
A wonderful show of your array of talents, Kathy! Each card shows a different technique. Thank you for showcasing "Spring Flowers and Coffee" and sharing it with us at Jan's Digi Blog Challenge. Good Luck!
