This month’s Sheepski Designs FB Challenge theme is “Happy Birthday.”
I had fun making two cards using Artist Andrea Norris’ wonderful digis.
The first one features
one of Andrea’s new digis “Twiggy” and a color scheme in deep rich autumn
shades. And even though I am usually ”tech
impaired” I was able to create this scene by layering Twiggy atop an Autumn
background from The Paper Shelter using a free Word program named Paint.net
(find the link in my supplies list.) I posted a picture of the layered scene that I
was able to just copy, size, and print off. (Note-I added a WM to this picture
to respect both companies' copyrights.
The original I saved to my laptop so I can make similar cards
in the future has no WM. Easy Peasy!) I printed off another copy of just
Twiggy, which I colored, fussy-cut, and adhered to the scene with a few small
strips of foam tape. Some golden accents add some bling to the card. So fun!
I’m
entering this card into several challenges including The Paper Shelter “Halloween Colors” (although not a Halloween theme, this card does picture many of the colors of
the season including orange, rust, and green), and Path Of Positivity Challenge “Celebrate Something Special
about Your Favourite Season” (this image represents some of my favorite things about Autumn: the
beauty of the changing seasons here where I live in Wisconsin USA; the brisk
weather (this little guy is dressed for the season with boots, a cap, and all
that warm fur... um... I mean hair); and playful fun (a person never outgrows
the pure joy of a good ol’ tree swing)!

The second birthday card features a pastel color
scheme to highlight Andrea’s sweet digi named “Dragon Fly.” The base of the
card is a Faux Stepper Card, which is surprisingly easy to make (find the link to
the tutorial in the supplies list.) I love the translucent beauty of vellum, so used that to add some depth to one of the layers. Fussy-cutting, a few vellum scraps, and a sprinkling of bling finish off the card.

I love the cute and often whimsical feeling of artist Wendy Burns digis,
and this adorable little witch is a perfect example of her talent! I added Halloween
colors, stars, bling, and a few freebie sentiments to bring the card to life. (However,
when looking for the link to the inside sentiment, I discovered that the one I
used appears to no longer be available, but I did provide a link- and pic- of one
that I like even better from the same source. So… win-win!)
