I’ve had two busy weeks at work- and home- so it’s nice to be back in blog-land!

First up, I’m sharing two cards that I made for the Outlaws Crash Your Stash Challenge- Googly Eyes. These went together quickly with some scrapbook labels, a scrap of white lace, freebie sentiments, and, of course, googly eyes!

Power Poppy’s current challenge theme is all about Fruits and Vegetables. I love cherries, so making this yummy card made me really hungry for them. It was fun to use a simple color scheme that is bright and bold, and to add lots of texture with sheer ribbon, a paper doily, and several layers of cardstock and patterned paper.

I loved making this card with a digi image and sentiments from Jan’s Digis. My alcohol markers and trusty white gel pen, plus some items from my stash, helped bring the fall still-life together pretty quickly. I’ll be sending it to a dear friend that has helped me through some difficult times over the last decade. She is priceless (plus she is a gardener, canner, and basket collector so I know that this card will bless her county-lovin’ heart!)

I’m entering this card into several challenges including Double D’s Challenge: Octoberfest (I love celebrating fall in the northern US for so many reasons, one is that we have a long harvest season- from mid-August through October- for a large variety of yummy apples. My friend who home-cans makes apple cider, apple butter, and my favorite, sparkling apple jelly, which I tried to depict on this card); Paper Funday: It’s all about the candy (if you top whole wheat toast with apple butter and a few sprinkles of cinnamon and sugar… it tastes as candy. Well… most candy. Nothing can beat Hershey's chocolate for me!); The Paper Shelter: Alter It (I enlarged the image, then cropped off the left side to shift focus to the jar of apple jelly); Path Of Positivity Challenge: Celebrate Something Special about Your Favorite Season (again… I love apples in all forms!)
