myasperations 3-13-22a

This card, featuring a sweet little frog named Skipper, is my final entry into Double D’s current challenge that’s all about pockets! I added a little wiggle room for this cute little amphibian by attaching the pocket to the "denim" with foam tape. I love the flowers on the pocket and tried to make them look embroidered by adding a few layers of gel pens “stitches” in bright colors. Fussy-cutting the Froggie and pocket, then attaching them to the “denim” background with strips of foam tape to pop them up a bit (or should I say to make them hop off the page?!) Ha!
I’m also entering this card into several other challenges including Cupcake Inspirations- Pets (I think that frogs can be pets… especially if they like to snuggle down in their “person’s” pocket!) and Path Of Positivity Challenge- Celebrate Something Special about your Childhood (my five siblings and I were blessed to have parents who allowed us to have lots of “pets”. Some were normal (puppies, kittens, and parakeets), others could be considered “unusual or non-traditional” (frogs, turtles, salamanders, chipmunks, pollywogs, and even a few insects. My mom did draw the line on spiders or snakes. Amen to that!)
Supplies:

·   Digi and inside sentiment- Imagine That! (Skippers Pocket) Company no longer in business

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, and assorted Sakura Gelly Roll gel pens

·   Front Sentiment- Desert Diva (A Pocket full of Hugs)

·   Denim paper from the We Are 3 Digital Paper Pack (Howdy Cowboy)

·   White photo corners available from several web sources (WXJ13 Photo Mounting Corners)

·   Cardstock, patterned paper, foam tape, and other items from my stash.

For the second month in a row, I fell in love with the digi that artist Francesca Lopez developed for the Cute As A Button Progressive Challenge on FB. I had so much fun coloring the adorable little Leprechaun Fairy and creating a card that features a Z-Fold, a rainbow, lots of green and gold accents, plus a wee bit ‘o bling. (To learn more about the monthly challenges, and how you can get the digis for free, join the CAAB FB page HERE.)
Supplies:

·   Instructions for Z-fold card can be found on Pinterest (I liked the one HERE)

·   Digi- Cute As A Button (Leprechaun Fairy)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, Sakura Gelly Roll white & gold gel pens

·   Green A2 Card base- Hobby Lobby boxed card/envelope set

·   Colored Rainbow- Freebie from cornishkat.blogspot.com (Unicorn Rainbow)

A few months ago I won a free digi from Crafty Sentiments Designs, a company that is new to me. This little cutie, named Mia, made me smile. I loved perching her on a card surrounded by swirling snowflakes. Adding fluffy “fur” to her boot tops and jacket hoodie adds a bit of texture to the card.
Supplies:
·   Digi- Crafty Sentiments Designs (Mia)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, Sakura Gelly Roll white & silver gel pens

·   Sparkly Snowflake Stickers- Hobby Lobby

·   Front Sentiment “Warm Hugs Sent Your Way” from Imagine That digi set (Jenn and Friends) No longer available

·   Inside Sentiment- The Paper Shelter Digi Set (Vintage Xmas Designs)

·   Snow on boot tops and hoodie jacket created with White Flower Soft (found HERE)

·   Cardstock and snowflake patterned paper from my stash.
