I am honored to have been a Guest Designer for Beccy Muir at
Beccy’s Place and now serves as one of Beccy’s “Contributors” (which means that she provides
me with digis or clear stamp sets several times a year and I get to create
cards or other items with them!) It is always fun to see the images Beccy
invites me to use. This time, the digi
and sentiment are from a just-released set named Candy Canes.
If you have followed my blog, you’ll
know that I love fussy-cutting. I wanted to give the image some depth but knew that I could never cut around all those beautiful berries. So, I used a grey marker and a white gel pen to add shadows
and highlights. An application of shiny white 3-D paint adds a pretty addition
to the berries. I really like the elegant font that Beccy used for many of the sentiments
in this set and planned to use the one I printed off on the inside of the card.
Instead. I decided to turn it into a tag to adorn the pretty bunch of Christmas
sweets. I wanted the tag to look like it was tied beneath the bow, so printed
off a cropped copy of the bow, colored, fussy-cut, and adhered it atop the
finished tag with foam tape.

I made several cards for last month's “Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge”
at Beccy’s Place, but ran out of time to actually enter them! So… will be sharing
them this month. Here is the first. It features a sweet digi and inside
sentiment from a Beccy’s Place set plus some items from my scrapbooking stash.

Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Lamb of God)

When I saw this
digi from All Dressed Up I fell in love with this sweet little pup. And I knew
just the sentiment that would perfectly fit the innocent look on his face- “Just
how good do I have to be?” The HoHoHo scrapbook tag gives the impression that
the BIG GUY is behind the scene enjoying the pup’s little game. The background for
the card was created with the “paint chip” type squares from a box of cards/envelopes
I picked up on sale at Hobby Lobby last month. I love how their varied Christmas
patterns resemble a quilt. Because I didn’t want them to overpower the
little pup, I cut a circle from a red
plastic index divider sheet that I adhered to the card front before adding the
pup. (If you’ve
followed my blog for very long, you’ll know that I use these wonderful gems A
LOT! They are sometimes called document file folders, come in a pack of
assorted colors, and can be found in the office supply section of most stores.
I’ve even found them in dollar stores. They're cheaper than colored vellum and
more translucent. Punches and dies don’t work on these sheets, but they are
easy to fussy-cut with a sharp pair of scissors and you can write on them or
draw a template outline with a black permanent fine-line marker.)
Supplies:
·
Digi- All Dressed Up Digital Stamp Freebie (Cute Just Got Cuter)
·
Backgrounds- Hobby Lobby Christmas Basics Box of Cards
(Upcycled from box itself)
· Sparkly Santa Hat Stickers- Hobby Lobby
· Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique
markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
· Front
Sentiment “Just How Good” from Beccy’s
Place Digi Set (Here Comes Christmas)
· Inside Sentiment-
I think is Computer Generated (as I cannot locate it in my digi files!)
·
HoHoHo sentiment and circle template from my scrapbook stash
·
Liquid Pearls-Ruby Red (dimensional berries on fussy-cut holly from Hobby
Lobby cards)
