Reasons to Celebrate

It’s the first of the month which means it’s time for a challenge at QKR Stampede which is always “Anything Goes” and several prizes are awarded. Stop by the challenge and maybe you’ll be inspired to enter a card or two yourself?
My DT card features an elegant scripture verse decorated with two colors of identically patterned paper. I fussy-cut hearts from red patterned paper and attached them atop the black, then added a bit of bling with some rhinestones.
Supplies:
·   Digi- Eureka Digital Stamp (1 Corinthians 13 13) Also available in unmounted or cling-mounted
·   Rhinestone Hearts (clear and red)- JoAnne’s
·   Heart paper (red and black)-Hobby Lobby
·   All other items from my stash.

Since it’s the first of the month it’s also sharing my DT card for the February Sheepski Designs Challenge. This month’s theme is “Romance and/or Use Some Red.” I used a new digi named Happy Birthday and love that the balloon's strings spell out the sentiment! I colored the balloons with pastel colors, except for the one shout of red!
PS Stop by the Sheepski blog to learn more about the monthly challenges. Maybe you’ll be inspired to enter a card or two yourself and have a chance to win some wonderful digis created by artist Andrea Norris!

My final card is one that I’d started creating for the Beccy’s Place annual Month of Holiday Cards event last November. I’d printed the beautiful bauble (a freebie from Beccy’s Place) on vellum, colored the holly design, then cut a scrap of white paper to tape behind the colored design to so that it would show up against a Christmas background, then set it aside. I found it recently when organizing my craft room (yet again!!) and finished it with items from my stash. I love the way it turned out!

Supplies:
·   Digi- Beccy’s Place Freebie (Holly Bauble) Original was redesigned into a beautiful new version available HERE
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, Sakura Gelly Roll white & silver gel pens
·   Inside Sentiment- “Merry Little Christmas” from Beccy’s Place Digital Set (Home for The Holidays)
·   Silver photo corners available from several web sources (WXJ13 13 Sheets 13 Colors Photo Mounting Corners)

  6. Your Valentine's Day card is gorgeous Kathy, I love the black, white and red colour scheme, it's a classic. The added hearts and rhinestones are a wonderful touch and really bring the two pieces of paper together.
You did an awesome job colouring the balloons on your second card, I thought they were actually fussy cut from the plastic folders you often use. You've really nailed the transparent look of each balloon. Very clever!
Your last card is fabulous, I love the soft effect the vellum brings to the patterned paper. Great colouring on this one too. I really like the tip of adding a piece of white paper behind one section to bring out the colours and patterns. Thanks!
    Cheers,
    Beccy
