It’s FRIDAY!

It’s Friday, so time for another challenge at QKR Stampede!  Stop by the challenge, which is always “Anything Goes” and several prizes are awarded. Maybe you’ll be inspired to enter a card or two yourself? My DT card features a fun digi from QKR  named “Scarecrow .” I colored the cutie with Spectrum Noir Coloring System alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. The background is an upcycled calendar page and the Hello sentiment is from my scrapbook stash.

This weeks sponsor for the Colour Crazy Challenge is Dr. Digi and I created my DT card with a great image named “Saucer-head”.  When I saw this fun image I knew that I wanted to feature him on a Z-fold card, attached to a strip of acetate so it looks like the saucer is floating on air! [You can find a tutorial for making this fold HERE.] I colored the fun image with Spectrum Noir markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. To infinity and beyond! (Am entering this card into several challenges including Scribbles "For the boys" theme... because I know of a few little guys that would love getting this card for their birthday.)

I now use digis most of the time in my cards, however, that wasn’t always the case. One of the companies that I found for my first digis was Beccy’s Place. The artist/owner, Beccy Muir, has a huge number of freebies available… and also sells both clear stamp and digi sets through her on-line store. I now have 69 of her amazing sets at 51 of her freebies tucked safely away on my laptop! Many of the sets were won over the last few years as I participated in Beccy’s November Christmas Challenge, where she provides a theme a day (most based on the letters of the alphabet) and offers prizes on a daily and weekly basis. Her generosity has always astounded me! (And continues to astound me as I moved from a Guest DT to one of Beccy’s “Contributors.” I really appreciate and admire this lady!)  This year participants in the monthlong challenge are invited to create cards for ANY holiday and using images from any company. So there is no reason not to get involved. For details, stop on by and jump into Beccy’s 7th Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge anyplace along the way. (Although today is the letter “M” you can create a card for that letter, or anything from A-L. Beccy even provided “prompts” for each letter of the alphabet along the way!)
This year, since I’m on Beccy’s Contributor Team, I’m playing along just for fun and will be using just Beccy’s images/sets. I’d hoped to start earlier, but we’ve had health issues at the Asper household since Halloween. Ack! I was finally able to spend some time in my craft room the last few days so I hope to post often the rest of the month. My first card features one of my favorite Beccy’s Place digi sets names “Seasonal Windows.” I printed the Autumn Scene onto kraft cardstock and colored it with Spectrum Noir Coloring System alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. The kitchen scene inside of the “house” is from a Dover Publishers Coloring book named “Creative Haven Country Charm Coloring Book” and the sentiment squares on the front and inside of the card are from my scrapbook stash.
I'm entering this card under the letter "F" which represents a few big reasons that I love Thanksgiving gatherings- Family, friends, food and FUN!
