Fun & Fantasy

I recently won a Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge and had fun picking out three digis from Lemon Shortbread. This adorable image, named “Fairy in Acorn” delighted me. (You can find it HERE. ) I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers, a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen and a silver gel pen on her wings. To add some depth to the digi, I printed off an extra copy of the fairy, trimming the wing from the body, then attaching her head and body to the digi with foam tape. I also used an Exacto blade to cut out the window panes and the doorway behind the fairy and attached lavender dotted "wallpaper" with foam tape. The colorful fall leaves were upcycled from a grocery store ad. The sentiment on the front of the card was cut from a sheet of sentiments. The inside “Make a Wish” sentiment is a freebie from Papercrafts magazine. You can find it HERE. I added a few tiny red rhinestones to both sentiments for a bit of sparkle.
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Outlawz Saturday Challenge- Favorite Things  (Fairies are on my list of favorite things),  and the  Butterfly Challenge (For the month of December the Butterflies are safely tucked away and Fairies, Gnomes, Pixies, Elves and Imps are invited to come out to play! )

This is my seventh entry into Beccy’s Place  7th Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge. It represents the Letter H for “Halloween” and features a wonderful freebie Jackolantern digi from Beccy’s Place that you can find HERE. I kept the coloring to a minimum with just a few  grey Spectrum Noir markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. I added depth to the card by cutting out the Jackolantern's face with an Exacto knife, then mounted the image onto yellow vellum with thick foam tape. I backed this with a layer of white paper and orange vellum. The inside sentiment is a freebie from the Create with TLC blog that you can find HERE.

My final posting today took a little time to make but I like the results. The front of the card features a free image named Christmas Door from Birdscards that you can find HERE. I used a fine line brown marker to add wood grain to the door, a pretty copper brad for the doorknob and a Tim Holtz brick stencil to add some realism to the front of the card.  When you open the door, a friendly scene greets you.  A sweet Gerda Steiner image named “Santa and Kitten” (Available HERE.) I colored Jolly Ol’ St. Nick with Spectrum Noir markers, a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen and a silver gel pen on his belt buckle. He is attached to a wonderful Christmas scene from a Dover Publishers Coloring book named “Creative Haven Country Christmas Coloring Book.” I didn’t do any coloring on this background so that Santa stands out. If you explore the coloring sheet you’ll find several delights, including another little cat snoozing on the sofa beside the tree.  (BTW- I signed up the Dover weekly newsletter a while ago and have appreciated that I receive weekly email links to a half dozen coloring and activity books, each offering 4-5 pages that are available for a short time as free downloads. Sign up for the sampler newsletter to start getting your own treasures.) The inside sentiment is from a Lily of the Valley digi set named “Christmas Wishes.”  Am entering this card into several challenges including Double D’s ChallengeWhat’s Your Christmas Style? (I do like Santas... and greenery) and
The Paper Shelter's Blast from the Past Challenge (the door digi has been in my collection for several years, and I won the Santa and Kitten clear stamp last Christmas, so almost a year ago!)
