Christmas & Coffee

It's Wednesday! So time for another challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge Blog where challenges are always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded from one or more sponsors.  Stop by the blog to check it out! The sponsor this week is Cute As A Button  and my DT card features an image named Peppermint Patty.  I colored the sweet image with Spectrum Noir markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. I framed Patty on the front of a boxed Christmas card, adhering her atop a scrap of colorful Christmas candy paper and a piece of vellum. The inside sentiment is actually on the inside of the boxed card, which I decorated with candy cut from the patterned paper. (Last year I picked up several boxes of these and other Christmas cards at 90% off. This is one of the designs. So... got the card plus an envelope for less than ten cents. Plus... if the inside greeting works with the cards I create... I don't need to layer on another one. Easy Peasy... and cheap!)

I am a Guest DT for the current Songs and Rhymes at Outlawz, where the theme is drawn from the song Over the river and through the woods, To grandmother's house we go; The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh, Through (the) white and drifted snow!” As soon as I heard that, I knew that I just had to make another card using the wonderful digi set named (appropriately)  Over the River  from Jan’s Digis. I love this wonderful truck image, especially because the silhouettes inside don’t overwhelm its lovely details. Decided to keep the look of the card clean and simple, adding just a bit of color with a few Spectrum Noir markers, a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen and a silver gel pen. As with my last card, I framed the image on the front of a boxed Christmas card, adhering it atop Christmas plaid paper and adding a Merry Christmas using a vintage Azadi Earles wood mount stamp. The inside sentiment is the inside of the boxed card. I adorned it with stickers I picked up at Hobby Lobby plus yummy cookies and milk digi is from a Paper Shelter digi set named "For Santa" It truly reminds me of visits to Grandma's house because she was an excellent baker!

My final card for this posting is a yummy coffee card created for the current Coffee Lovers Fall/Winter Blog Hop. I’ve had the coffee image in my stash for some time. I think it was in a set of scrapbook embellies that I bought many years ago. I did add just a bit of color by shading with a few Spectrum Noir markers (including the orangy brown to match the Outlawz inspiration photo), plus added highlights with a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. The inside sentiment was actually attached to the coffee image, but I cut them apart to put the sentiment on the inside. Strips of richly colored papers create the background. The left has photos of yummy brownies, the diamond shapes on the center strip are flocked, and the right strip has a fun floral pattern. The brown ribbon is upcycled from a box of Godiva Chocolates that I received several years ago. I am entering this card into several challenges including Bugaboo's Stella Says Sketch (photo),  and the Outlawz Tuesday Color Inspiration (photo.)
