Christmas & Birthdays

Because I was sick earlier this week, my DT card for Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog is a bit late. The challenges begin on Wednesday, are always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded from one or more sponsors.  Stop by the blog to check it out! My DT card features a sweet image named “Mallory” from sponsor Digi Doodle Studio. I colored Mallory with Spectrum Noir Coloring System alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. The sentiment on the front of the card is from a Lili of the Valley Digi Stamp Set named "Christmas Wishes" and the inside sentiment is from a Beccy’s Place digi set named “Candy Shoppe.”

This is my second entry into  Beccy’s 7th Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge. It features one of Beccy’s Freebies named Boxed Snowman.  As one of Beccy's Contributors, I'm entering this years month-long event just for fun... and also to highlight some of the many wonderful images and sets that I now have in my ever-growing collection of Beccy's Place amazing artwork! I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Coloring System alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. The inside sentiment is from a Beccy’s Place digi set named “Lamb of God.” I'm entering this card under the letter "J" for Joy!

My final card for this posting is for the current Double D challenge named “ Neutral Fall.” It features a wonderful vintage image from Createful Heart named, appropriately, “Worn Out Truck.” I kept coloring to a minimum (which is difficult for me!) just adding a bit of shading with Spectrum Noir Coloring System gray alcohol markers and highlights with a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. The leaves, fussy-cut from scraps of vinyl wallpaper, have a wonderful coppery sheen.  I’ve had fun “Older Than Dirt Quiz” on the inside of the card in my files for over a decade. I’m not sure of its source but will add that info here if I can locate the original on the web. (PS I remember 18 of the items. So it's official, I'm older than dirt!)

  2. "Mallory" is adorable Kathy, and you've done an awesome job colouring her. Great idea to place her in a window so she can been seem from both the front and the inside. I love your JOY card, what fabulously festive colours! The border looks like it's made from actual candy... the shine is lovely and helps to give shape to the frame. Your third card is awesome! I love the "Older than Dirt" quiz, although some of the items on the list are U.S. specific, there are many others that I remember. And even a few that still exist now! Great job Kathy.
    Cheers,
    Beccy
