Midweek Fun Times THREE

It's Wednesday! So time for another challenge at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog where challenges are always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded from one or more sponsors.  Stop by the blog to check it out! The sponsors this week are  All Dressed Up and Maria Medel Illustrations.

My first card features an adorable All Dressed Up image named Popsicle. I colored the little cutie with Spectrum Noir markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. The “Hello” on the front of the card is a freebie from HERE and the inside sentiment is from a Beccy’s Place Digi set named Candy Shoppe. When finished I thought the card needed something… and added a handful of pretty pink rhinestones. Because a girl's gotta have bling, even when she’s sporting beach hair, right?!

The “”So Cute ” tag on the front of the card is from a Lily of the Valley Digi set named "Sentiment Tags" and the inside sentiment is a freebie from HERE. AM entering this card into several challenges including Outlaws Color Challenge (card includes beige, two shades of blue, plus white and a few touches of orange in the little umbrella and beach blanket. My final card is from Maria Medel Illustrations and features a digi named Boy With Googles And Fins plus a fish and seahorse named Sea Elements3. I wanted to create a card where the little diver was smiling at his sea horse friend. Making the front of the card from acetate allowed me to do this… plus I loved creating a front and back image of the little seahorse that allows us to see his cute image on the on the inside of the card, too. (Being able to easily “flip” an image is one of the many reasons that I love working with digis.)
To make the acetate card front, I used my paper trimmer to cut a piece of acetate 5½ x 5 inches, then used a scoring blade in my trimmer to score the shorter side a 4¼ inches then set it aside. To make the card base, I flipped an A2 card with the fold to the right. The underwater background was created with a scrap of colored scrapbook paper, upon which I layered torn scraps of vellum.  I colored the little diver with Spectrum Noir markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen, fussy-cut and adhered him to the underwater scene. The inside sentiment, decorated from a few critters from the MMendel Sea Elements3 digi sets  is a freebie from Birdscards that you can find HERE. When finished, I attached the acetate along the left edge of the card front, by folding he scored flap to the back of the card and taping in place with double stick tape.
