Love is in the Air

This week's sponsor at the Colour Crazy Challenge is Dr. Digi and I made my DT card with a fun image named, appropriately, "Made for Each Other. When I saw the image I immediately thought of a niece and her new hubby who were married on Halloween last year. The reception was actually a costume party with the bride, groom and most of the guests dressed up in style. So… I made this Anniversary card just for them. I have a feeling that they'll think it is a scream! I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. You can’t see them very well, but the not-blushing-bride (she is actually as white as marble) is wearing a diamond ring and a pretty pink brooch adorns her ample bosom!  The sentiments on the card, inspired by the name of the digi, were computer generated using a wonderful free font named "1313 Mockingbird Lane."

My DT card for this week's QKR Stampede Challenge, features QKR Stampede digi (Q-digi9603-Birthday Bear) and a Eureka Stamps digi sentiment  (ES-digi20202-Beary Special.) You can find them HERE. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen, striping his cute nightshirt to match the background paper. The pretty balloon is colored with a scrap of a plastic document folder. They come in a pack of assorted colors and can be found in the office supply section of most stores. I really like using them on my cards because they're often cheaper than colored vellum and are more translucent.  You can write on them with a fine-line permanent marker [which I used to trace the balloons. Sometimes I trim the marker lines when cutting them out. This time I left the outline to help the balloons stand out. The plastic is easy to fussy-cut with a nice, sharp pair of scissors. I added hearts made with the same pink plastic to decorate the inside sentiment. Don’t you love how the scrap of the lined background paper peeks through?

My final card features a wonderful image that I just won from Sheepski Designs named “Making Hearts.” You can find it HERE. I printed the image on kraft cardstock, the added a light wash of color with my Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils and Dove Blender pen. When those colors were dry I did add a few highlights with my Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. I created a wintery scene with snowy background paper and snowflake dies from Lawn Fawn. The sentiment on the front of the card is a from a favorite set from Beccy’s Place named “Seasonal Windows” and the inside sentiment is a from an unknown source. (I currently have over 6000 digital images on my laptop. Some are within the 465 folders of digi sets so I cannot just pull them up by title. I know that this sentiment is hidden in one of those sets as I did print it off to make this card. And… I need to find it again because I really like it. So, when I do, I'll add the source here. In the meantime, if any of you recognize this sentiment and can tell me it's source, please do!]
