Girls & Violets

Hello! It’s the third Thursday of the month so time for new challenge at Imagine That Digi Stamps. For my DT card I used a sweet image and sentiment from a digi set named Pool Girl. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. When finished, I fussy cut the image, and attached it to a card base, which features a fold called an “Impossible Card.” It is actually very easy to make. You can find instructions HEREI also had added “water” to the pool by cutting a scrap of blue vellum into an oval with tiny “waves” cut across the top. I carefully fussy cut around the little swimmer and front part of the pool, then slid the water oval down into the pool, adding a bit of glue to hold it in place.
One added note- The designer/owner of Imagine That, Kris Breach, provides her DTs with a coupon code that allows any friends a discount on their next digi order. If you stop by the shop I know that you'll find lots of digis you'll want to add to your collection. Then, make sure to enter your card into this months challenge with an "Anything Goes" theme for a chance to win a $12 coupon to the Imagine That Digistamp shop, or a Top 3 award which includes 2 free digi sets of your choice and an invite to be our Guest Designer in the next challenge!  You can find the full rules HERE.

I’ve seen so many beautiful cards using this digi image from Cute As A Button that I just had to get a copy for myself. The digi is named, appropriately Wonder Woman. I colored the beautiful warrior with Spectrum Noir markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. I love the bold stars background paper and the freebie sentiment from TLC is a perfect fit. (And is one that many superhero women I know and love can probably relate to!)

Cute As A Button-#47 Anything Goes

I was invited to be a guest DT for the Thursday with a Twist Challenges at Outlawz during August. Fred She Said is the sponsor this month, and this is the second of three images that I’ll be sharing this month. For this card, I used a lovely  digi named “African Violets” that you can find HERE I love this digi because it reminds me of my mom and grandma, who both could grow African Violets that were absolutely gorgeous. Sadly, the “green thumb” gene skipped me! So… I tried to create realistic violets with the help of photos that I googled.  And, the best thing is that I can’t overwater these blooms!
I colored the beauties with Spectrum Noir markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. The “Hello” on the front of the card is a freebie from HERE and the inside sentiment is also a freebie from HERE. The twist for this challenge is to use a favorite embellishment. If you follow my blog, you’ll know that I have a thing for vellum. I use it to add color, mute a background, or, as in this case, add some interest to a card by using patterned vellum. This lovely vellum that features leaves and petals is from a Hot off the Press card kit I purchased years ago. (I checked and the kit doesn’t appear to be available. However, if you google “Floral vellum” you’ll find lots of options as it is popular for wedding invitations!)
