End of Week Creativity

My DT card for this week's QKR Stampede Challenge, features a Eureka digi named Butterfly Pattern (ES-digi29401 Butterfly Pattern). I colored the butterfly wings with Spectrum Noir markers before them out. I cut the butterfly body from black felt that I upcycled from a pen holder. I love the fuzzy texture that it adds to the butterfly.  The base is fold called an “Impossible Card.” It is actually very easy to make. You can find instructions HERE. I added some funky floral paper and a die cut thank you  (that I upcycled from a card so don't know who makes it) to complete the card. The final touch was to add a bit of bling by adding a handful of pretty red gems across the wing tips. So pretty!
Am entering this into several challenges including the current Butterfly Challenge: Color (Juicy Orange- looks red in the photo but it is a red-orange in real life) and Theme (Jewels and Butterfly.)

This week's sponsor at the Colour Crazy Challenge is A Day For Daisies and I made my DT card with a sweet image named "Hello Baby Giraffe."  The little cutie was colored with  Spectrum Noir markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. The sentiment is computer generated.  (Sadly, the image is no longer available as A Day For Daisies shop closed its doors on July 31st. The artist/owner, Tammy’s, sweet and often whimsical images will be missed.)

My final card for this post is a simple Christmas Card that I created from odds and ends. I upcycled the patterned paper from an old card, the tag and inside greeting sticker is from a card kit, and the red gem and ribbon are from my stash. Back when I co-owned a rubber stamp store in 2001, one of our most popular card-making classes was called “Cards to make in 10 minutes or less.” These days I often spend 30-60+ minutes on my cards, so it was fun to see one go together so quickly. Am entering this card into several challenges including Outlawz Twisted Thursday (Twist= Geometric Pattern- Diamonds), 12 Months of Christmas (a wee bit of bling with the little red gem and sheen of gold on the tag.)
