Coffee YAY

This card for the 2019 Spring | Summer Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop is actually pretty simple to make. Named a "pinwheel card" I found the tutorial to make it HERE.  The sweet little coffee cup perched on the chipboard sentiment on the cards belly band is an old stamp from Stampin' Up. I stamped several of these sweet little cups on various scraps of patterned papers and stamped just the little heart shaped whiff of steam that rises from the coffee image on red vellum. The inside sentiment is computer generated. And the beautiful brown bow and ribbon were upcycled from a Christmas gift box of wonderful Dove Chocolates. Yummy.

I used another of the little Stampin' Up coffee cup images and the red vellum heart-shaped steam to decorate another card to enter in the 2019 Spring | Summer Coffee Lover’s Blog HopI stamped up several of the sweet little cups on various scraps of patterned papers. This card uses another one of those images, this time the image is attached to a scrap of cardboard that wraps around a pull-top coffee cup card. (I made the base for this card at a class several years ago but have no template. I'm thinking they are available on Pinterest. I'll have to look for one!)  The sentiment is one of Kelli Winnell's Friday Freebies. You can find it, and dozens more HERE.

This is my second card for the Double D "Kentucky Derby Hat" challenge. I picked this wonderful image named "Emmy's Hat" from Sheepski Designs just for this challenge and LOVE it. [You can find the image HERE.] I colored Emmy and her hat with Spectrum Noir markers and white gel pen. Decided to go with an unusual pale blue, white, grey and silver color scheme, so that the hat becomes the center of attention. I used the same technique that I employed to make a vintage hat on yesterday's post, cutting slits into the hat image so that I could pull tulle through to create a poufy veil. This time the white tulle has little sparkly silver accents that add a little bling.  I also tucked a few snips of delicate silver ribbon [that I inherited from my mom's craft stash] down into the tulle, plus added silver photo corners. The inside sentiment is from a Craftin Desert Diva Digi Set named "Magical Day." [You can find it HERE.] Am entering this card into several challenges including Sheepski Designs "Flower Power" [there are actually three robin's egg blue flowers hidden above the rim of the hat], Simon Says Monday Challenge "Add Something Metallic" [I attached the blue flowers to the hat with silver brads. You can see one peeking through the veil and silver ribbon], and Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration & Challenge- "Lace[there are snippets of precious silver ribbon from my mom's craft stash decorating the festive hat.]
