Stars, Stenciling and Sponging

Needed another graduation card for the local high school, so used this wonderful stamp from Eureka again. Once again, used a  burgundy and black color scheme to match the school's colors. But, this time I added a bit of excitement to the card, by adding a few star brads, plus punched a few stars from sparkly silver paper and cut the centers out with an Exacto-knife to frame the happy graduate! I created the simple Congrats sentiment on my laptop, and the internal sentiment is ) is a freebie from createwithtlc.blogspot.com  Am entering the card into several challenges, including QKR Stampede (they sell stamps from Eureka and other companies), Power Poppy (current challenge requires B&W with a pop of color), CAS-usal Friday (Sketch), Double D's (add bling), Crafty Hazelnut's [monthly] Patterned Paper Challenge and Create with Life- TLC challenge (inside sentiment).

Both of the current challenges for Simon Says require stenciling. That is a technique that I rarely use.  But I dug through my tools and did find a few stencils. This rose patterned one is so delicate. Decided to add a simple sentiment that is a free download from www.papercraftsmag.com/articles/July_August_2012_Sentiments (The sentiment has a heart drawn on the final swoop of the word. I covered that sketched heart with a metallic pink heart sticker that adds a bit o' bling! Am also entering card into the DigiStamps4Joy Anything Goes Challenge with the Twist "For Mom." I wish I would have told my mom THANK YOU more often then I did when she was alive. She was such as caring and generous lady!

Had fun creating another card for the current "Shape Shift" challenge at A2zscrapbooking. Sketched the cat shape onto a folded A2 sized card and fussy-cut around it. Sponged on the spots, added the cute face (free-form sketch) and tied a bow around his neck. Finished the card by stamping the sentiments on the front and inside using two of the first stamps I ever bought (back in 1998, made for a company named Azadi Earles.)
