Creative Cuts

Love this image from Tiddly Inks. It is perfect for the current Simon Says Wednesday Challenge, "For the Boys." (Although, I like trucks, too!) For instructions to make the braided edging, video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XDamx9R_uw&t=362s and pattern: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1o3tU8Sj66CQdXd-6OEyxpfjtwIFxcpHQ/view    I added the strip of ribbon to add a bit more texture to the card and make the braided edge stand out even more! Am also entering it into the current Power Poppy challenge. My pop of color is blue!

Many years ago I received an invitation to a church event that included this cute purse design. I've made several cards using it as a template and decided it would be perfect for the current "Shape Shift" challenge at A2zscrapbooking challenge. I gave the purse a "dress up" feeling by adding a tube of lipstick and using a Tombow marker to add color to the exclamation point on the inside of the card. Thought that was kinda creative. What do you think? (Am entering the card into a few other challenges including Kitty Bee's "For Mom", Pixies Snippets (used lots of odds and ends to decorate the purse), Bugaboo Challenge "Say It With Flowers" (I used flower patterned paper on the purse) and Art Impressions "Playing Dress Up" (the purse and lipstick make me think of playing dress up as a little girl.)

My final  entry for the current Butterfly Challenge "Letter H" includes two of the colors, Hunter Green (ink for floral background stamping) and Harvest Gold (the butterfly looks rusty orange  in the photo, but it is actually a dark golden tone in real life) and includes Heat Embossing. I actually tried mixing several colors of EP- silver, gold and bronze to get a variegated look. It worked, but the result is also  a really bumpy. Interesting, but bumpy.  I also wanted to enter the card into the WCC Wednesday Challenge named "Cutting Corners." I had received a wonderful card from a friend that included this bold corner treatment. I think that she had used a punch. I traced around the edge to duplicate the look on my card, and like the results!
