myasperations 3-16-26

I have been a regular participant in the Path of Positivity (POP) Challenge since I stumbled upon it 5 years ago. It became a favorite almost immediately, mainly because it inspires a positive mindset and encourages positive actions! To learn more, read the Introduction provided in 2013 by the creator of this inspiring challenge, Lisa D.
This year, the Path of Positivity is officially entering its 13th year of offering challenges that encourage positivity and creativity! In honor of this wonderful anniversary, 0ur challenge host, Lisa D, introduces the theme for 2026: Crafting by the Numbers. (Click here if you'd like to read more in depth about our overall theme for 2026)!
March’s challenge TWIST is Lucky #3: Use 3 Gems on Your Project, and I decided to make an elegant easel Christmas card using a wonderful sentiment from Scribbles Designs named Silent Night Quote.  It is a perfect way to feature three gems on my card… and they really add a nice bit of bling! The inside sentiment is the perfect fit for this card.
Note- the twist is completely optional, and you don't need to follow it to win. As long as your creation is positive or encouraging in some way, enter it into the POP challenge for a chance to win $6 worth of images from our sponsor, Scribbles Designs, and/or be honored as one of our special "picks"!

Supplies:
·   Easel Card- Instructions found HERE
·   Digi- Scribbles Designs (Silent Night Quote)

·   Inside sentiment “May the Love of Christ…” is from a Jan’s Digi Stamps set (Company is no longer in business)

·   Stickles- Diamonds (used to glue gems in place)

·   Filigree Gold Photo Corner Stickers- Hobby Lobby

·   Sookwang double-sided tape- Available from several sources on the web.

·   Clear gems, other misc. items and tools from my stash.

I made several of these cards to give to the participants in a women’s Bible Study at my church, using many items I’ve had in my stash and my tool cupboard for years. The card, with beautiful blooms on a photo upcycled from an old calendar, contains a built-in bookmark (that is perforated with a Fiskars Rotary Paper cutter I’ve had since the late 90’s so it can be easily torn from the card), and embellished with a rhinestone-studded brad I’ve had for a few decades! I left the inside blank so I have room to write some words of encouragement!

Supplies:

·   Floral background scene is upcycled from an old calendar

·   Vellum- Hobby Lobby

·   Front Sentiment-Computer Generated

·   Butterfly wood-mount stamp from Posh Impressions (Company no longer in business)

·   Colored with Marvy Brush Markers, antennae added with a Black Fine-line Sharpie

·   Fiskars Rotary Paper Cutter  (with several specialty blades, including one that perforates paper)

·   Sookwang double-sided tape- Available from several sources on the web.

·   Scrap of sheer satin-edged ribbon, rhinestone brad, other misc. items and tools from my stash.

My final card this post was made for St Pat’s Day! It includes a pretty rainbow, a sweet little red haired pixie, and a wonderfully Irish sentiment.
