The new challenge at Double D’s has an Easter theme, which includes three options: Easter, Church, and Cross. I looked through my collections and found this
beautiful wood-mount stamp that I’ve had since the late
‘90s. I heat embossed the image on vellum, colored it from the underside with
markers, added highlights to the topside, and adhered the finished work of art
atop a card front decorated with paper scraps. Silver photocorners secure the
vellum imaged. The inside sentiment is embellished with another shimmer of
silver, this time provided by a lovely crown sticker.

The theme of the
March challenge at Sweet November Stamps (SNS) is ‘Use Green.’ I dug through my
collection of SNS images and found one that will fit the theme and provide me with
another Easter card! The digi, which shows a tender scene between a little lady
and her precious pet, is appropriately
named “Bunny Boop!” I created a festive background with several scraps of
pastel colored papers and sentiments from my stash.
Supplies:
· Background- created with
paper scraps from my scrap drawer!
· Colored
with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
· Front Sentiment- Welcome Spring label from my
scrapbook stash

I seldom make CAS cards, but
I often enter cards into Simon Says Stamps challenges, so I decided to pull out a
wood-mount rubber stamp from Personal Stamp Exchange (aka PSX Stamps) to make
this Clean and Simple card! I also kept my coloring to a minimum, using markers
and adding highlights with a white colored pencil (to give his feathers a soft
sheen) and a touch of white gel pen (to add the sparkle in his eye!)
I was excited to see that the new Pick 3 Challenge includes CAS as one of it's options, so I am entering this card in that challenge, plus a few others, too!
Supplies:
· Wood-mount rubber stamp ”Wood Duck” from PSX
(Company no longer in business)
· Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, white colored
pencil, and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·
Inside Sentiment- “Floating by to say hi” from a Beccy’s Place
digi set (Floating by) (Beccy recently closed her digi shop. She now sells clear stamp sets online. Check HERE to see which sets
are available!)
· Sookwang
double-sided tape- Available from several sources on the web.
· All other misc.
items and tools from my stash.

Simon
Says Wednesday Challenge-CAS
I was excited to see that the new challenge at Time Out is to “use a clear element or
elements on your project” because I like using clear acrylic and vellum on
my cards. For this fun card, I used both of those items! I
copied two of the Summer Holiday digi images into my Word program, printed them, colored one, and fussy-cut it. I
then used an Exacto blade to trim the interior from the van's digi, leaving two
open spaces where a strip of acetate “glass” was trimmed to fill the
windshield, and taped it in place.
Next, the second image was colored in just one small section, the interior
seen through the windshield, then fussy-cut, and a few strips of foam tape were
adhered along the outer edges of the window section. When the two images are
correctly positioned and taped together, the view of the front seat will show through.
I then created the other clear element, the sunglasses, by tracing them onto a scrap of thin vellum, using a gray marker to add a layer of color on the underside, and attaching the dark lenses to the glasses with a few small dabs of
glue. It took a bit of work to get the van and luggage positioned where I
wanted them, but once I worked that out, I attached them to the card front with double-sided
tape and foam tape, added the sentiments, and called the card “TaDone!”
The happy traveler on this card reminds me of one of my nephews, who turns 50
in a few weeks. He even has a mustache and wears wire-rimmed eyeglasses, so I think this card will bring a smile to his “half a
century” old face! (Ummm, that reminds me that I am well “over the hill”… or
should I say, over more than one hill?!!) Ha!
