It's June 2nd, time for a new challenge at Path of Positivity! I have been a regular participant here since I stumbled upon it 5 years ago, mainly because it inspires a positive mindset and encourages positive actions! To learn more, read the Introduction provided in 2013 by the challenge creator, Lisa D. Lisa establishes annual goals, and this year's goal is Embrace the Unexpected in our lives. She introduces June's theme with the expression, "Happiness is receiving unexpected mail" and encourages us to Send an Unexpected Correspondence. Lisa then shares some wonderful reasons and benefits of taking such action, and even offers suggestions. (You can read the reasons, benefits and suggestions HERE.)
I made this card to send to my oldest brother, Pat. While Pat was in the Navy he spent time in bases all over the globe. His favorite was in Antarctica, at the Earth's geographic South Pole, it offered extreme temperatures and interesting animals. He especially liked watching the penguins. And since he has a great sense of humor, so I know he'll like this card.

It features one of Scribbles' popular penguin digis. This guy is named Brrr, and the digi is called"Brru-ubbles" (but I like to add the subtitle, "Does this floatie make me look fat?") The sentiment, which I turned into a two-parter, is from Kellie Winnell.
Now... it's your turn. Why not make someone's day with an "Unexpected Correspondence"? And, if you enter it into the POP challenge you might even win $6 worth of images from our sponsor, Scribbles Designs, and/or be honored as one of our special "picks"!" This is my
DT card for
All Dressed Up (ADU) Stamps FB Challenge.
The June theme is “Favorite Things”, and my card features an ADU digi that
includes of my favorite summer treats, watermelon! I loved all
the details that artist Wendy Burns added to this little cutie; her little pig
tails, big bow, and of course, the two slices of watermelon!
I had fun sitting her
atop a simple rocker card base, and adding a few melon lovin’ bees, attached to
strips of acetate so that they look like they are floating in the air. Supplies:
· Rocker Card- I have two favorites. This one is made with a circle folded in half (or here
is another version that starts with a rectangle.) ·
Digi- All Dressed Up (As Sweet as Melon)
·
Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique
markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
· Front
Sentiment “Happy”- from my scrapbook stash
·
Inside Sentiment “Have a Magical Birthday” from a Beccy’s Place Digi Set
(Fairy Folk)
· Bee Embellishments are fussy-cut from patterned
paper- JoAnnes Crafts (sadly all stores recently closed
nationwide.)
·
Sookwang double-sided tape- Available from several sources on the web.
·
Strips of pink satin ribbon, strips of acetate, other misc. items and
tools from my stash.

My final card is a fun coffee
themed one with a Bugaboo digi and sentiment. The star of this digi, Gertrude, deserves
all the attention, because… well… she is out of bed and dressed (in pretty
jammies!) I have a feeling that the mug of coffee is what makes it possible to
be awake at ‘6 am (often called “ o’ dark hundred” where I live!)
