Early in my
career I taught drug prevention lessons at an elementary school in South Dakota. I
loved my pre-K through 5th grade students (26
classrooms a week… or nearly 600
students!) And they loved the few dozen Christmas sweaters that I wore from the
day after Thanksgiving to the last day of school before the Christmas holidays.
Since I was in my 30’s at the time, my hubby often teased that he felt like he
lived with a retirement home escapee! So I had fun using this sweater digi from
Alex Siberia. So fun! I used one of my favorite tutorials from artist Anabel
Haines (HERE) to add knitted
texture to the sweater with just markers and a white gel pen. Easy Peasy! Supplies:

Speaking of texture, a spool of
some fun fiber twine that I found at a thrift store years ago was so fun to use
for hair on this witchy digi, which is a freebie from Beccy’s Place. Googly eyes
add another texture, plus depth, to the card. I used an exacto blade to trim the
eye holes, then picked out the right size of googly eyes to fit into the holes… popping up from her face. Eek!

the only thing they have in common is that they are wearing pointy hats!

My final item in this post is a
set of bookmarks that I will be giving to a few Bible Study friends. They are precious
to me… and I think they’ll enjoy this sentiment (which I’ve had in my craft
files for a few decades, so I don’t know the source. If you recognize it and
know the source, please let me know so that I can give proper credit.)
I’m entering these tags into
the Path Of Positivity Challenge: Anything Goes
(the requirement is that the card is AG… as long as it’s positive,
inspirational, motivational or encouraging. I feel like the sentiments on these bookmarks
fit all of these adjectives. )

·

used HERE.

Your colouring is always fabulous Kathy, but I especially love it when you add the extra texture. The knitted sweater looks awesome! Those lines of white gel pen really make the difference.
ReplyDeleteYou've done a brilliant job adding the hair and eyes to the witch image, it's a big improvement... just like she's been to the beauty salon! Great idea to use the twine for hair. Love it!
The bookmark tags you made are wonderful Kathy, and I'm sure your friends will love and appreciate them. Handmade gifts are always extra special.
Cheers,
Beccy
