A Cat, Cake and Coffee!

It’s time for the mid-month challenge at QKR Stampede, which is always “Anything Goes” and several prizes are awarded. Maybe you’ll be inspired to enter a card or two yourself? My DT card features a fun sentiment and a cool cat with an attitude! I made the paw prints with a pencil eraser and brown ink pad. It took a little practice on scrap paper, but after a bit I perfected making the toes with the eraser and adding a heart-shaped “pad” for the paw by smearing a small “v” shape onto the paper with the eraser and smudging it a bit. So fun!
The inside sentiment reads "And he looks a little peeved! (Better invite him to your birthday party or your age won't be a secret much longer!) "
Supplies:
·   Front Sentiment- QKR Stampede- Digital Stamp (Cat is Out) and Inside Digi- Eureka Digital Stamp (Cool Cat with Shades) Also available in unmounted or cling-mounted
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Inside Sentiment- Computer Generated
·   All other items from my stash.

My second card makes me hungry! I found a few pieces of some yummy cupcake paper in my scrap box and wanted to make a birthday card for a cupcake lovin’ friend. This sentiment from Scribbles was perfect for the inside. I keep a file of previously printed/stamped and diecut sentiments so when digging for a Happy Birthday one. This one was the perfect size, especially when backed with a piece of a red plastic index divider sheet cut into a heart shape.  (These wonderful items- sometimes called document file folders- come in a pack of assorted colors and can be found in the office supply section of most stores. They're cheaper than colored vellum and more translucent. Punches and dies don’t work on these sheets, but they are easy to fussy-cut with a sharp pair of scissors after tracing shapes on them with a permanent fine line marker.)  It wasn’t until I was looking for the name of the die to add to my supplies list that I discovered this diecut originally included a cupcake that I must have cut off and used earlier! So funny that it ended up on a cupcake embellished card!
Supplies:
·   Front Sentiment-Happy Birthday cupcake die from Cottage Cutz (missing the cupcake!)
·   Inside Sentiment- Scribbles Designs (Eat Cake)
·   Plaid and cupcake papers- Hobby Lobby
·   Cardstock, a heart scrapbook template, and scrap of red plastic index divider sheet from my stash

For my final card this post, I had fun making a card for a coffee lover  who also loves all things related to superheroes. I couldn’t pass up using this digi and sentiment… especially because both are freebies on the web! A quick look through of file of yellow scraps found me enough patterns to create the sunburst pattern behind the coffee lover. (And it was pretty easy because I created a template with the section that cut away from the back of the image. Easy Peasy!
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Outlawz - Twisted Thursday- Twist- Use Your Favorite Embellishment and tell us about it! One of my favorite embellishments is vellum. Here I use it to add a bit of hazy interest behind the sun and some translucent depth to the inside of the card.)
Supplies:
·   Digi- Dearie Dolls Free Digi (Good Morning Coffee)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Inside Sentiment- A Freebie from Kellie Winnell’s Blog
·   Scraps of patterned papers, yellow vellum, star punches and other items from my stash.
·   All other items from my stash.
