I won a recent challenge at Sheepski Designs and was invited to serve as a Guest DT. This is the free digi that I selected, named Camouflage, and I had so much fun using it! The new Sheepski FB challenge is “Warm Colors.” (Join in the fun at SheepSki Designs Digital Images and Art). I decided to create a card incorporating fall leaves… but wanted a rustic tone so printed the image onto scrapbook paper that features weathered wood onto which the little reptile could settle in! The sentiments are computer-generated. I also created a Christmas themed card using the little chameleon decked out in a jaunty Santa hat sticker.

I love the intriguing
stamping opportunity called "Twofer Card Challenge" which requires
the use the exact same
stamp or die to make two cards with distinctly different designs for two
different occasions. The October Challenge is named "Sweets." I
used an image and sentiments from a clear stamp set named “Hole Foods” from The
Project Bin to make a Halloween Card and a “just for fun” donut card.
Twofer Card Challenge- #21 Sweets
For the Halloween card, I stamped the donut frosting in orange, lime green, and purple (stamped twice). I trimmed the purple ones to create the letter “B”, saving the sections I’d cut off to create the exclamation point. I then backed all the letters with black cardstock. I printed an enlarged a copy of the Bugaboo image named “Ghost Peeker” on vellum, then perched him behind the sentiment. The eerie background paper is an upcycled calendar page. The ghoulish inside sentiment is a freebie from Decosses Dynamite Doodles.

I love the fun sentiments in this set. For the fun donut card, I used two of them. I then stamped the donut image on kraft, dark brown, white and pink cardstock, then trimmed the white and pink frosting and adhered them atop the brown donuts.

Haha, I am laughing out loud at the sediment inside your fun donut card, Kathy, and I love the torn edge and pretty ribbons! Both of your designs are clever and fun! Turning the donuts into a BOO! sediment is really inventive, as is the vellum ghost and upcycled calendar page! Your chameleon cards are fantastic, too! Congratulations on Guest Designing! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #21! Hugs, Darnell

ReplyDeleteYou are truly brilliant, Kathy! I'm just bowled over by what you did with the chameleon! Best ideas... I LOVE those cards! Now I have to say that I'm equally stunned by your imaginative use of the donut stamp. It makes the best "boo"!! And very cute as regular donuts, too. I just cracked up over the sentiment inside! Thanks so much for delighting us in our Twofer Sweets challenge!
