It’s Friday, so time for another challenge at QKR Stampede! Stop by the
challenge, which is always “Anything Goes” and several prizes are awarded.
Maybe you’ll be inspired to enter a card or two yourself? I had fun making a
gatefold snowglobe card using Eureka Stamps sentiment (ES-digi7706
Thinking of You) and a sweet little scene from QKR Stampede (Q-digi13807 Snowy Cabin). I colored
the little scene with Spectrum
Noir markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. I used a
circle die to cut the snowglobe from snowy patterned paper. I traced the circle
onto the snowy scene lightly with pencil and cut it out, tearing a few scraps
of white cardstock into strips, layered them on the base of the scene, and
glued them down to create “snowbanks.” I hand sketched the base of the
snowglobe onto a scrap of kraft cardstock, added the woodgrain with a brown Tombow
watercolor marker and adhered it to the base of the snowglobe. I used a few
layers of scrap paper to create a sentiment banner which I adhered to the left
side of the gatefold card. I then attached the snowglobe to the right side of
the gatefold. The inside sentiment is a freebie from SVG Love that you can find
HERE.

This weeks sponsor for the Colour Crazy Challenge is Little Blue Button and
my DT card features a digi set named "Christmas Joy."
I printed the tree digi onto green plaid paper and white cardstock. Then
fussy-cut the tree from plaid paper and adhered it to the tree on white
cardstock, then colored the tabletop, tree trunk and pot with Spectrum Noir markers and a
Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. I printed
off six copies of the ornaments, colored them with medium and dark red Spectrum
Noir alcohol markers, fussy-cut them and added some details with a gold gel
pen. I attached them to the plaid tree with a square of foam tape, then added a clear
gemstone and a green twine bow to each. Kraft photo corners attached the finished scene onto a
few layers of cardstock, which was attached to an A2 card.

I wanted to
make cards for the many people that work in my agency providing such great
customer service; the receptionists, bookkeeper and other members of what we
call “support staff.” I’ve always felt that was an excellent title because
there is no way that the rest of us could see clients, host meetings or do
anything without their excellent support!
So, I’ve been thinking of making a gift holder that could provide them
with a little treat… then found a wonderful mug template HERE.
I traced the template onto grey cardstock, stamped a cute snowman (with a
vintage Embossing Arts wood mount stamp) and colored the little cutie with colored
pencils. This one holds a tea bag. But I plan to adapt the template a bit so
that a packet of hot chocolate and a candy cane can be slid down inside. I’ll
add a to/from tag to the handle and tuck them into mailboxes. So fun!
