Peaceful

Used a new digi that was available through a Christmas giveaway at Kit and Clowder's FB page. It is a sweet image from Di's Digis named "Christmas Owls." I colored the two little furballs with Spectrum Noir markers any my trusty white gel pen. Added polar white flower soft on their hats, adhered them onto an oval of vellum, and then onto decorative vellum. Gold photo corners add the finishing touch. The inside sentiment, from Lili of the Valley digi set named "Christmas Wishes" was framed with the decorative vellum and gold corners to match the card front. So pretty.  Am entering the card into several challenges including Outlawz Twisted Thursday Anything Goes Challenge [twist is Animal Antics].

When looking through my Di's Digi images, I found this one and knew it would work perfectly for the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge.  It's called "Peace On The Prairie" and is available for just $1 [here]  I colored the sweet trio with Spectrum Noir markers, a white colored pencil, and white gel pen. Used an upcycled calendar page for the background. The frame is made from the matting on a picture I bought at the dollar store several years ago. The glass was cracked, but I liked the matting. And since the item was just 50¢, it nabbed it. Found it when cleaning my garage this weekend, and new the bronzed frame would work for the Outlawz Color Challenge. Cut it down to size and liked the result. The black die-cut Hello from a packet of scrapbook embellies was mounted onto a scrap of orange vellum. A scrap of the calendar page was used on the inside of the card, along with the freebie sentiment from Desert Diva

The wecraftcard Forum's weekly challenge last week was to create cards with 12x12 or 6x6 sheets of patterned paper.  I used a 6x6 paper pad from Echo Park that I won in a recent challenge at SumMoreFun to make five A2 card bases, and this is the first one that I made into a card. It includes three pieces of patterned paper mounted on a tan A2 card base, and one fitted inside of the silver coffee cup brad [that I purchased at a Michaels after-Christmas sale many years ago] along with scraps of red and brown cardstock. I added shading to the cup with grey Spectrum Noir markers and smudged white gel pen. Love the effect. The sentiment is from a Lili of the Valley digi set named "Christmas Wishes." Entering this into several challenges including Mod Squads "Patterned Paper Triple Time" and Double D's "It's on the Menu" [because coffee is on the menu of any place that I regularly visit. Ahhhh. I do love the aroma of freshly brewed coffee!]

This card was made for the "No time like the presents" challenge at Jingle Belles. The requirement is to use Christmas gift wrap or tags on a card. Since I scavenge paper and ribbons after any kind of party I had lots from which to choose. [When at parties, my family members actually ask, "Kathy, do you want this?" before crumpling paper and throwing it away!]  This card features a wonderful snow globe gift tag that I saved from last Christmas. It worked beautifully on another of the card bases that I made with the 6x6 papers. So fun. And the snowglobe is just two circles of acetate... so I must try making one with stamped images in the future.  Yes... I definately must!
