Spring Fever

From the cards I've been making, you can probably tell that I am tired of cold winter weather. We are at 35 below zero again tonight… which is REALLY cold! So, am thinking of Spring and beyond!

My first card uses a free coloring sheet from Tammy Tutterow that I printed off on vellum. You can find her free coloring pages here tammytutterow.com/gallery/coloring-pages. I added a sweet and happy little House Mouse named Monica to my card! (I think this image is especially appropriate because the stamp is titled "Tiny Jumper" and she looks like she is jumping with joy about Spring. I can totally understand!)

Moving from Spring into summer, my next card is made using a cute digi from Tiddlyinks named Snorkelbunny. I colored him with my Spectum Nior makers, and used a layer of blue vellum to add a watery translucency. So fun!

Bugaboo Stamps is celebrating their 8th Birthday this week with daily birthday challenges. Today's card is to be bold and bring. My card features a wonderful image from Beccy's Place that I won a while ago but had not yet used… to it is really new, right?! Was fun to color, especially since I made it into a 3-D card, fussy cutting and layering many of the pieces. (I provided a close-up photo so you could see those details.) The cover sentiment is printed on vellum and attached little gumballs where the adhesive showed through (a happy solution to fix my oops.) To fit the birthday theme, the inside of the card reads, "I hope that your birthday is as sweet as you are!" (Oh, and it was fun to find a use for this patterned paper that I've had in my stash for several years. Isn't it a perfect fit for the colorful gumballs?)

  9. I can't even begin to image weather that cold Kathy, I don't think I'd be able to stand winter's that get below freezing. I'm definitely a sub-tropics kind of girl.
Another fabulous collection of cards. The Spring card is fabulous, I really like the colouring page you printed... it was a great idea to use the vellum. The little mouse is adorable and I think you're right about her jumping for joy with the return of spring.
The snorklebunny card is so cute! I love how you've added the "water" over the top of the image, it's a very clever idea and looks fabulous.
The gumball card is definitely a labour of love, but well worth the effort! I really like how you've fussy cut all the different elements and layered them together, the 3D effect is awesome. I agree that the pattern paper works perfectly with the bright colours in the image. Love it!
    Cheers,
    Beccy
