PSX Magic

I am glad that I have several vintage PSX wood mount stamps. They make such wonderful images, especially when embossed. For this card, I drew the round ornament shape on the front of an A2 card, sketched in the metal hanger and then carefully cut out the circle. Added silver pen on the hanger and loop and adhered the sparkly silver cord and knot.
Gold embossed the angel and then used the embossed image as a resist when I traced the circle around the stamped image and colored it with a dark green Tombow marker. Stamped the sentiment, which is also a vintage stamp from Uptown Stamp Company, in the same dark green. Finished the card by clipping the corners with one of my decorative scissors that I hardly ever use anymore. Ahhh... simple elegance!

Found this wonderful free image when looking for a Nativity scene. Love how the sentiment is incorporated into the design. So fun! You can find it here- www.hopeink.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/ChristmasGreatJoyColoring.pdf    Not sure who makes the inside stamp. I got it in a grab bag of stamps at a local Goodwill. Most, including this sentiment, were not labeled. And, I printed the image off on vellum and colored it from the back, creating the nice muted colors. Lastly, if you look closely, you might be able to see that the vellum has specks and strings of metallic glimmer. So pretty!

Many years ago I tried my hand at using foil with stamping. Quickly learned that I wasn't very good at it. (I guess you could said that I was foiled by the technique? Ha. I just looked up the definition of the word and it means "frustrate the efforts or plans of". Ha again! ) This snowflake was one foiling attempting that worked out. I found it tucked away in a box of odds and ends a few days ago and knew that I had to put it to use for a few current challenges for sparkling and snowflakes. I also paired it with a wonderful saying I found years ago as the inside sentiment so that I could enter it into Word Art Wednesday Challenge.
