Gifts, winter and parties... oh my!

Love this sweet little bear from DisDigis (named Candy cane Bear.) Because he is bearing a gift of candy canes, I am entering him into Di's "Holiday Gifts" challenge. The wonderful Hello Friend sentiment is from Beccy's Place digi set named "True Beauty."  To add some depth, I popped his legs, left paw and top candy cane with foam tape.

I love this spunky little penguin named Finn, created by the talented Beccy Muir. This image and sentiment from the digi set named "Fins Scarf" works perfectly for a CAS Sketch challenge from Less Is More. (I'm still learning how to control alcohol markers. Just noticed in the photo that they bled a bit on this image, especially on the top of his head. But… it just makes him look a little bit soft and fluffy, doesn't it?!)

I save EVERYTHING including this little drink tag from a party a while ago. Decided it would work great on a card for two challenges with a Party theme. Was inspired by a few 3-D vellum lemonade glass cards that I found on Pinterest including the one here-  inkspiredtreasures.com/cards/summer-splash-lemonade-glass. Instead of vellum, I used acetate to make the Margarita glass. I scored the acetate along the diagonal, and slid the cut edges into slits in the paper and taped them to the backside of a 4x5.25 inch piece of white cardstock. Mounted the white cardstock onto a red A2 sized card. Filled the "glass" with layered scraps of crumpled pink vellum, attached with a small strip of double-sided tape. Added salt [glitter] to the rim and topped it with a strawberry image, fussy cut and covered with Judikins Diamond Glaze. The final touch was to attach the drink tag. Now, let's party!

  1. Oh my goodness, that little white bear is gorgeous Kathy, and you did such a great job colouring him. I love the contrast with the red in the candy cane and the green in the holly.
Your Finn card is fabulous, great colour combo. I didn't even notice the bleeding until I read your blurb Kathy, I thought it was just a little bit of shading you added.
You've really done an awesome job on the margarita card, I particularly like the way you "salted" the rim of the glass... very clever! The addition of the drink tag was a great idea too.
    Cheers,
    Beccy
