Celebrating Winter

Made a New Years card with a free New Year 2018 digi from TLC (available right now at http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.com/2017/12/bring-on-2018.html) and a free digi from Beccy's Place (find it here http://beccysplace.blogspot.com/2010/01/printable-5.html). You can't tell from the photo, but the green bottle is cut from a scrap of a translucent document folder. They come in a pack of assorted colors, are available at office supply stores and are cheaper than colored vellum. I especially like the look of the strawberries reflecting through the "bottle."  I also layered a square of this green folder behind the sentiment. Lastly, since the original freebie from Beccy has wedding rings drawn at the bottom of the scene, I fussy cut around the bottom of the wine glasses and strawberries and slipped the sentiment under them, to cover the rings. (Beccy calls such action "extending" an image, so I know that she won't mind me repurposing her wedding digi!) Am entering this into several challenges, Beccy's Place and TLC (Doing Life) plus others that focus on New Years and Parties and other Celebrations.

One of my favorite parts of blogging is meeting some wonderful people. This past week a wonderful new friend gifted me with 1o new digi images. I've had so much fun playing with them these few days of Christmas vacation. This is the first! It is from Whimsy and is called N'ice Friends. I love it! (Thanks, Linda!)
Oh, and the sentiment is  from Beccy's Place digi set named "True Beauty."

  4. How cool is that?! I LOVE what you've done with the wedding digi Kathy, what a great idea... and you're absolutely right about me not minding. I'm always so impressed when people figure out new ways to use images, being creative is what it's all about. I love your idea of using translucent paper to create the bottle. Seeing the strawberries through the "glass" is very cool.
Your second card is wonderful Kathy, that little snowman is adorable! His little face is so sweet. I like the way you've co-ordinated the colours in the image with your paper and embellishments, it looks great.
The last card in your post is lovely and festive, and the kitty is super cute too! I like the big heart with the sentiment and the sparkly brads too. Well done.
    Cheers,
    Beccy
