A Touch of Spring

For the current Sketch Saturday I decided to go with a non-Christmas/ winter theme. Printed some beautiful butterflies on vellum (You can find the butterflies, plus a few more options, here http://what-a-beautiful-mess.blogspot.com/2013/04/scraps-of-elegance.html). The sentiment is an old, old wood mount stamp from Embossing Arts.

Another card with a non-Christmas theme. This one is made with a wonderful image from a Beccy's Place digi set named Bear With Me. I printed the sentiment off on my computer (now sure where it's from. Have had it in my files for over a decade!) Added some fun decorative paper and scraps of clear blue document folders (behind the sentiment on the front and cut into heart shapes on the inside of the card) You can find packets of these folders  in office supply stores. They are often cheaper than colored vellum, are more translucent, and a packet of them offers many colors.

I just discovered a new company that makes digis. Decided that this sweet little fairy (from a Crafting Desert Diva digi set named "Magical Day") would look adorable with a Santa hat and jingle bells. So cute! The Merry Christmas Sentiment is a wood mount from Northwoods Stamps that I've had for many years.

  2. Your Touch of Spring card is beautiful Kathy, love those butterflies. The design looks like a good way to use up some scraps too.
You did a great job on the bear card. I like how you've continued the sentiment on the inside of the card with a "punch line"... it works perfectly with the image. The blue document folder works great with the papers you chose.
I love the way you transformed the little fairy into a Christmas character. The little Santa hat really did the trick, and I love the beautiful sentiment you used. You did an awesome job on the colouring too.
    Cheers,
    Beccy
