This year, the Path of Positivity is challenging you to Embrace the Unexpected! This month's theme is "brighten someone's day by creating something that you can send as a good surprise to someone special (or give in person) or send a card that has a surprise in it" (More theme information can be found HERE.) Note- This theme is optional, so as long as your creation is positive or encouraging in some way, enter it into the POP challenge for a chance to win $6 worth of images from our sponsor, Scribbles Designs, and/or be honored as one of our special "picks"! My card features a Scribbles Digital Image Santa Puppy Hat. I made it to send to a friend this Christmas who has a sweet beagle that resembles this cutie. (Except his hat would have a few holes chewed into it!) It will be attached to a gift bag containing handmade cards for various holidays and special events, along with a dog toy and treats!

My second card for this post features a partially finished a while ago and found tucked away in a scrap box when re-organizing my craft room! I'd used a template that I created to make a calico cat-shaped Easter card this past March. (You can find a photo of that pastel card, the template for two different-sized cards, and learn a bit more about making the card HERE.) It just took a bit of time, a few sentiments, and a bit of coloring (the bow, sentiment tag, and stitching with my trusty white gel pen, to finish this beauty! Oh... and I decided to make an easel card, mainly because they always have such a nice "Wow" factor... and are so easy to make!
· Easel Card- Instructions found HERE (Except I used a portrait vs a landscape format for my A2-sized card)
· 5x7 inch Calico cat Template (made by Moi!)
· Digi- Large Bow from Power Poppy Digital Stamp Set (Big Ol' Bow) Set is now on sale for just $2!
· Front Sentiment is from The
Paper Shelter digi set (Vintage X-mas Designs)
· Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
· Inside Sentiment is from Eureka Stamps (Currently not available)
· Sookwang double-sided tape- Available from several sources on the web.
· Patterned paper scraps, other misc. items and tools from my stash.

My final card for this post was made as a thank you for a dear friend named Joan, who recently helped me provide a card-making class with a local Senior Citizen group a few weeks ago. We both love to laugh... and since she has naturally curly hair... I know that she will love this card!
Although I started with a pre-colored digi from The Paper Shelter, I decided to recolor her hair, eyes, and clothing to make her resemble Joan. (Well... I think she resembles a younger version of Joan... which is also sure to make her smile... or maybe even guffaw! (Because I'm pretty sure that both of us have shoes older than the woman on this card!!)
I had already written in the card before I remembered to take a photo. So that is why the bottom of the inside of the card is covered. (My writing is pretty scribbly these days!!)
Supplies:
· Precolored Digi is from The Paper Shelter digi set (Giselle)
· Recoloring, shading and highlighting with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
· Sentiment is from a mug I saw on the web HERE
· Sookwang double-sided tape- Available from several sources on the web.
· Patterned paper scraps, other misc. items and tools from my stash.

Fantastic cards Kathy, you're always so creative! The dog image on the first one is very cute, I love how the hat covers his eyes. The image on your last card is also fabulous, and you've done an awesome job with the colouring. My favourite card in this set is the quilted cat. I love the easel fold, the pretty papers and the hand-drawn stitching. Gorgeous!
