myasperations 11-29-25

I have participated in the annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy’s Placee blog every November since 2017, first as an avid cardmaker, then as a member of Beccy Muir’s Contributor Team! Although Beccy’s online shop closed earlier this year, she continues to sell her amazing clear sets via wholesale outlets and Stamp Shows/events across Australia. I miss having regular contact with Beccy, who is an amazing person, but was glad that I was able to enter several cards into this month’s challenge.
This posting includes four cards that feature some of my favorite digis that I’ve added to my BP Collection over the past 8+ years! Enjoy!

This first entry features one of my favorite freebies from Beccy, an adorable snowman with a sweet face that warms my heart. I don’t use pre-colored digis very often, but Beccy’s coloring on this little cutie is so very soft and lovely that I just had to use it. The only changes I made to the digi were to add “texture” to the furry hat with a white gel pen, silver details to the bauble (plus I cut a circle of light blue glitter paper to add some holiday bling!), and some decorative stitching to the scarf. Two sentiments, fussy-cut snowflakes, and a few circles cut from glitter paper, and one from lovely patterned paper, finish the card. So fun!
An added note- the sentiment on the card front is from a digi set that includes 28 sentiments… and is priced at just $ 1.84 until the end of November! Check it out HERE!
Supplies:
·    Digi-Beccy’s Place Freebie-colored version (Snowman with Bauble)

·    Additional details added with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, Marvy Silver Marker, Sakura Gelly Roll white & silver gel pens

·    Front Sentiment “Let it snow…”- from Lili of the Valley digi set (Christmas Wishes)

·    Inside Sentiment is from We Are 3 (Sadly Etsy Shop is closed.)

·    Nuvo Glitter drops are used to make the inside sentiment sparkle a bit!

·    Sookwang double-sided tape- Available from several sources on the web.

·   Pretty blue patterned is from a Sande's Poema digital set (Obtained via a recent weekly email newsletter, which you can join HERE, or check out the FB page HERE for additional info. Sande’s creations always impress me… and she provides them free to those on her newsletter!)

·    All other misc. items and tools from my stash.

I have bears  in all shapes and sizes in my large digi collection. The ones drawn by Beccy always warm my heart as she gives them so much personality! I love the denim overalls on this little cutie, who holds a yummy peppermint stick as he patiently waits for the Big Guy to arrive!  Patterned papers (bearing candy and pinecones), and sentiments finish the card.

Beccy names each of her digi characters, and when I first saw this hound named “Earl”, I laughed out loud. Doesn’t Earl just exude a haughty, almost regal, attitude?  However, I do think that he looks a bit “underwhelmed” with his attire! I added knitted texture to Earl's sweater using an excellent tutorial from artist Annabel Haines. It takes a little time to detail all the cable stitches, but I think the results are worth it! (See link to the tutorial in Supplies list.)

  1. Thank you for the kind words Kathy, I appreciate them very much. I really miss having regular contact with you too, so it's wonderful to have your cards in the challenge! All four of these are fabulous. I especially like the snowman one with the beautiful texture you've added to the hat and scarf.
    Cheers,

  2. Gosh, I love all your cards. The first three are darling for Christmas. I have a special place in my heart for dogs, so that's my favorite. I'm glad you included the fall card with sunflower, too. Gingham and burlap are the perfect companions. It's lovely to see it in our Double D Fall Colors Challenge!
