Spring Preview

It's time for another challenge at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog where challenges are always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded from one or more sponsors.  Stop by the blog to check it out!
For this challenge, my DT card features a sweet Easter digi from Paper Nest Dolls named Avery with Cross.  I decided to give my card jellybean coloring with a background of made with strips of various shades of pastel parchment cardstock. Avery’s dress and roses in their light colors make the dark sheen of her hair pop to life! The white embossed floral paper is upcycled from an old greeting card ("old" as almost 50 years old! I’ve been collecting greeting cards since 1972 when I worked in a card shop in a little town in South Dakota) , and the paper flowers add a final shout of Spring color!
I'm entering this card into several challenges including Incy-Wincy Designs (does a nearly five-decades old count as “vintage”?)
Supplies:
·   Digi- Paper Nest Dolls Digital Stamp (Avery with Cross)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Front and inside Sentiments are from Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Easter Joy)
·   Parchment paper scraps, upcycled embossed card front, and paper flowers from my stash.

Outlawz Challenge- Inlinks Challenge

I was thrilled last year when Kris Breach, artist/owner of Imagine That Digistamps started offering monthly challenges again! I served on Kris’ DT before she took some time off and I always enjoyed working with her… and creating with her wonderful artwork.  She now offers Progressive Challenge each month. And since I love bears, I really like the current one that features a sweet bear… literally sweet as he is devouring a potful of honey!  I created a front of a PopUp Front Step Panel Card and layered beehive paper onto the front of it. The little bear was attached to the front of the card base and suspended extra bees in the air above him with strips of acetate taped behind him with double stick tape.
PS- The March Progressive Challenge set includes digis, sentiments, and papers all for just $3.25. And if you enter a card into this month’s challenge, you’ll get next month's digi set for free! But hurry, the challenge ends on the 31st. Check here for details!

Supplies:
·   Digi, sentiments, bees and be hive paper from Imagine That digi stamp set (Honey Bear)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Template- Pop up Front Step Card (HERE- just through step 4)
·   Glossy Accents- adds shine and depth to honey
·   Star Dust Stickles on bee wings
·   All other items including cardstock and scraps of acetate are from my stash.

After making the last card, I decided to use the same card base, plus the sentiment, bees, and beehive paper to decorate this month's Outlaws Progressive Challenge digital stamp from Paper Nest Dolls named Lulu Bell! Isn’t she adorable? This time I didn’t suspend the bees with acetate, instead opting to attach a few to the front of the card with foam tape.
Supplies:
·   Digi- Paper Nest Dolls Digital Stamp (Lulu Bee)
·   Sentiment and bees from Imagine That digi stamp set (Honey Bear)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Template- Pop up Front Step Card (HERE- just through step 4)
·   Sheer black dotted swiss ribbon- JoAnne’s
·   Yellow and white dotted ribbon- WalMart
