I am honored to have
served as a Guest Designer for Beccy Muir at Beccy’s Place and am now one of
her “Contributors” (which means that she provides me with digis or clear stamp
sets several times a year and I get to create cards or other items with them!) It is always fun to see the images she
invites me to use. This time, the digi
set is named Easter Blessing. I loved using it because it is versatile,
providing images and sentiments that can convey so many different themes!
For my first card, I wanted a homey, natural feeling so opted for creams,
browns, and light pastel colors plus lots of textures. Instead of adding mini-eggs
to the twigs, I used dabs of craft glue and pinches of brown flocking (that I’ve
had in my stash for a few decades!) to create soft and fuzzy pussy-willows! The
smooth “glass” on the egg jar was added with a layer of acetate and the white
cording holds the plaid “fabric” and greeting tag in place nicely. The inside sentiment is embellished with matching
paper and a sweet little puffy heart sticker.

My second card was oh so fun to make! I often add a touch of humor to my
cards with computer-generated sentiments… and the quizzical (might I even say
stern?!) look on Mr. Easter Bunny’s face inspired this bit of slightly snarky
humor! I enlarged two of the pre-colored eggs to fit an A2 sized card, using my
Word program to lighten the colors a bit before attaching the sentiments,
bunny, and a wispy scrap of Silver Dotted Tulle ribbon. The
Easter banner adds a playful feeling to the card, offsetting Mr. Bunny’s terse look.
And the puffy heart sticker provides a bit of whimsy.
I'm entering this card into several challenges including Bugaboo BINGO (first row-ribbon, 3 layers of paper atop the card front, and no designer paper.)
