Famous Wise Guys

It’s Friday and time for the Colour Crazy Challenge. This challenge is “Anything Goes” but adds one requirement- the creation needs to include coloring in “any colouring medium you like, onto any project you like, and in any colours you like.” I’ve never outgrown my love for coloring… which is why making cards is stress therapy for me!!
This week’s sponsor is Dr Digi and my DT card features a wonderful image named Three Wise Men.  Since my card base with layers of elegant papers, punched stars and a scrap of vintage Christmas music* provides lots of patterns I kept my coloring pretty basic with my trusty white and metallic gel pens adding sparkle and sheen to the gems and gold. The front Wise Man is fussy-cut and adhered with foam squares to provide additional depth. The inside sentiment is a sticker.
*The music sheet is from a box of tattered choir books we found in my hubby’s grandma’s basement. She had been a church choir director and most of the music was dated from the 1920s through the 1950s). I quickly rescued them from the trash bin and love using them on my cards!

Supplies:
·   Digi- Dr. Digi (Three Wise Men)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, Sakura Gelly Roll white & silver gel pens
·   Inside Sentiment- Gold Sticker from my stash
·   Patterned paper- DCWV Far East 12x12 Paper Stack
·   Cardstock, yellow vellum, metallic gold paper and a scrap of antique music from my stash
·   Star templates and punches from my scrapbook stash

Besties Challenge- December Anything Goes
Path Of Positivity Challenge- Challenge #86 (Optional Twist- Rejoice)

Still working on Christmas cards… which gets me into the holiday spirit! I was thinking of my younger brother when I made this one. He always seemed to push to the limits when we were young. Unlike his perfect older sister! Ha! Everything about the card makes me smile, the quirky owl, the freebie naughty list certificate and especially the inside sentiment. The wise owl (or in this case a wily owl) figures he just has to barter a bit to move from the naughty to the nice list. In my family, we would appropriately respond, “Ummm… good luck with that!”
I’m entering this into several challenges including the annual holiday challenge at Bugaboo stamps (I always look forward to this event. And it always includes an opportunity to create a humorous Christmas card. So fun!) and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Christmas Critters (I don't know if my card will qualify since an owl might not usually be linked to Christmas but this one, named Oscar [I love how Beccy names all of the characters in her sets], is negotiating with Santa. So maybe it works? And Oscar had considered donning a Santa hat or shaking a few jingle bells for this card. But he thought that might look like he was trying too hard to impress the "Big Guy" so he offers no props! If this card doesn't fit the theme... feel free to redraw if it is the random selection.)
