myasperations 2-7-25

This is my second card posted as of the Dressy Girls, aka DTs, for the All Dressed Up Stamps FB Challenge Team! This card features an adorable digi from “New Release Inspiration” Day for artist Wendy Burns latest creations.
I was thrilled to be given the digi, “Spring Hugs” and decided to use mainly pretty pastel colors to give the card a Spring vibe! Pairing the digi with delicate daisy paper and happy sentiments help to create a wonderful Easter card. (I embellished the card with satin ribbon plus fussy-cut several little daisies to drape around the front sentiment
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Allsorts Challenge: Optional theme of Romance and/or Music (my husband loves gingerbread. I usually only make gingerbread cookies at Christmas but I think I’ll bake up a batch for Valentine’s Day this year. FYI- at our house romance usually involves food!)
Supplies:
·   Digi- All Dressed Up Stamps (Spring Hugs)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Front Sentiment “Sending A Happy Hello” ” from  Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Tree Scapes)

·   Inside Sentiment- “Happy Easter” from Beccys Place digi set (Easter Joy)

This card features a beautiful Moondrea Designs digi named “Lilly Love Pierrot.” The card's color scheme (B&W& shades of red), plus Lilly’s makeup, is inspired by a bit of web research on female Pierrot’s. I also added some bling… because most performers like a little sparkle!
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Park Hopping-My Happy Place (This is z favorite challenges as it’s introduced me to many new amusement parks. I visited the alphabetized inspiration listing that sponsor Makira offers at this wonderful challenge site, and found a listing for “Valentines “at Tokyo Disney, where I think that this beautiful Lilly Pierrot is perfectly dressed for a party at the Queen of Hearts cafĂ©.)

·   Digi- Moondrea Designs Digi (Lilly Love Pierrot)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

This last card is for the current challenge at The Paper Shelter, “Make Your Own Background.”  I wanted to make a winter-themed card, so looked for an image to serve as my inspiration/focal point!  A cute little digi from The Paper Shelter named “Well Wrapped Up” was the perfect fit. Since I find fussy-cutting to be relaxing, I dug out some patterned paper that I’ve had from when I tried my hand at scrapbooking about 20 years ago and started cutting out a bunch of winter gloves, scarves, and hats. After using them to decorate the front of the card. I adapted a pop-up hug fold I found on a FB reel to help it look like the well-wrapped cutie is reaching out for a hug!
Supplies:
·   Digi- The Paper Shelter (Well Wrapped Up)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Pop-up Hug fold adapted from the one found HERE

·   Front Sentiment “Thinking of You”- from Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Beachside Bliss)

·   Inside Sentiment “You Warm my Heart” from Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Christmas Cheers)

myasperations 2-1-25

The last few months have brought so many changes in my life- retirement, two of my favorite people closing their digi shops (Sheepski Designs and Beccy's Place Digi),  family health issues, and a few more pairs of jeans that got shrunk in the dryer! (I deny that the last item has anything to do with holiday treats! Heh heh.)  That said, life is good. I now get to spend so much time with my sweet hubby and in my craft room. Plus, was thrilled to invited to become one of the Dressy Girls, aka DTs, for the All Dressed Up Stamps FB Challenge Team! (Thanks, Wendy and Andrea!)
This month's FB challenge theme is “For the Girl” and I decided to make a Valentine's Card that features “Cookie Girl.” It was easy to do because Wendy Burns (artist/owner of ADU) had already added cute little hearts to the digi, on the baking pan, and in the gingerbread dough (plus one perched n the little chef's nose!) Saweet!!
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Allsorts Challenge: optional theme of Romance and/or Music (my husband loves gingerbread. I usually only make gingerbread cookies at Christmas but I think I’ll bake up a batch for Valentine’s Day this year. FYI- at our house romance usually involves food!) and Park Hopping-My Happy Place (If health and our budget allowed, it would be so fun to celebrate Valentine's Day at Be Our Guest Restaurant at Disney World.)

·   Digi- All Dressed Up Stamps (Cookie Girl)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, Sakura Gelly Roll white & silver gel pens

Since retiring, I’ve been slowly decluttering my craft room. In the process, I found some partial cards that I’d made back in the late 90’s when embossing impressions with a light box, brass stencils, and a metal stylus were all the rage!  This card contains two of those impressions, a simple yet elegant Christmas tree and the word “Merry”. I used them, plus scraps of ribbon and lace from my stash and a fancy fold tutorial to create this White-on-white card for the current Double D challenge.
Supplies:
·   Flap Fold Card Tutorial- Freebie from Beccy’s Place HERE

·   “Christmas Tree” (image) and “Merry” (sentiment) made with Brass stencils and Sylus years ago.

·   ZIG Wink of Stella clear glitter brush marker

·   Inside Sentiment  “May the Joy of Christmas Keep you Warm” from Lili of the Valley digi set (Christmas Wishes)

A few days ago, I posted a Lumberjack card on my blog using a few digis from RG Studios 360 set. This card features another image, "punny” sentiments from that set, and a few other digis and papers from my stash.
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Time Out’s Pick Two: Stitch, Layer, Heart, Food, Love, Warm (the front and inside of my card both include several layers and hearts, plus I sketched stitches on the lumberjacks bib overalls with a sharp pencil), and Path Of Positivity Challenge: Unexpected Event In Your Past  (The unexpected event was that I met a young man my first night at college at a “Freshman Welcome” dance.  Named Rich, I learned that he was a sophomore student who joked he was there with a few friends to “check out the freshmen girls!” We shared several dances and I enjoyed his sense of humor. He was also drop-dead gorgeous with blue eyes and thick blond hair falling to his shoulders!
I'd suffered a bad breakup that summer and the last thing I was seeking was a relationship. So I was surprised how much I enjoyed occasionally running into him on our small campus. By the end of that year, we were dating regularly and were married a year later. In the 47 years since we’ve survived a dozen major moves, first due to college and medical school (Rich was an internist), and later due to jobs. Life has dealt us a few blows with job losses and health issues, but I am so thankful that our paths crossed on that warm August night nearly 50 years ago! I hadn’t planned on finding the love of my life that night but now I can’t imagine life without my Rich! I thank God for that unexpected event/meeting.)

Several months ago, I discovered this wonderful “Old Cook Stove” digital image from Anne’s Digital Art, and I had to have it! I’ve been looking for a digi to pair with it, and this little Gnome chef seemed like the perfect fit! I didn't want the gnome to block the stove from view, so I created an acrylic flap on which the little chef could be adhered.  When he is flipped back, a fun Julia Child sentiment shows up beside the stove. Then, when the stove-laden card front is opened, a colorful Birthday greeting appears. So fun!
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge ( The two January requirements are Shape: Circle, and Cue: Cute. I have three circles, plus the Gnome Chef is pretty cute!)     Sketch Elements:

I wanted to make a “tag” for the current Cupcake Inspiration Challenge and dug in my scrap bag for inspiration. I found lots of fun Spring/Easter items and decided to use a little chick digi to create a playful Easter tag.
I’m entering this item into several challenges including Snippets,  a favorite of mine because it inspires me to use up the little odds and ends I collect (mainly because I just can’t bear to throw them away!) For this tag, I used many scraps of paper and ribbon plus one fluffy bit of a yellow feather!)

I won a fun Lumberjack digi set from RG Studios 360 several years ago and finally put it to use after recently finding Lumberjack-inspired patterned paper at Hobby Lobby. I had fun using these items to create a card I’ll give to my sweet hubby for Valentine's Day.  (There is a story behind the front sentiment. A few months ago, Rich woke me from a sound sleep at 2 AM when he yelled "HEY!" at the top of his lungs! When I asked if he was okay, he said he'd been dreaming that he heard someone trying to break into our home so he opened the front door and yelled... you guessed it… "HEY! Since then at least once a week one of us will loudly yell "Hey” at unexpected times and often from a room or two away. This usually cracks both of us up. We are weird that way!)
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Time Out’s Pick Two: Stitch, Layer, Heart, Food, Love, Warm (the front and inside of my card both includes several layers, plus the flannel shirt speaks to me of “warmth!”)
