I am honored to have served as a Guest Designer for Beccy Muir at Beccy’s Place and am now one of her “Contributors” (which means that she provides me with digis or clear stamp sets several times a year and I get to create cards or other items with them!) It is always fun to see the images Beccy invites me to use.  This time, the digi and sentiments are from a just-released set named “Wheels.” After coloring the van, I decided to create a sentiment “banner” to drape between its front mirrors. I measured the distance between the mirrors, and printed the sentiment, in various sizes and well-spaced, on regular white copy paper. I used a pencil to lightly sketch the drape for the banner, selected the one that would fit best, added shading, cut, and adhered it to the front of the van. The flowers on the van reminded me of some wonderful paper that I won from a company named Dare2BArtzy. I used it as a background for the front of the card, and fussy-cut many of the blooms to embellish the inside sentiment.  

I’m entering this card into several challenges including Passion for Markers “In the Garden” (my card includes lots of flowers!) and Paper Funday’s “Flower Power” (that title makes me think of the ’60s… so it is the perfect tie-in with the Hippy van!)

I purchased this sweet Unicorn digi years ago from Bugaboo Stamps and was so saddened when the company closed during COVID. , It is one of my favorite Unicorn digis, and I paired it with a fun, computer-generated sentiment.

I’m entering this card into several challenges including Park Hopping-My Happy Place (I googled Unicorn Theme Parks and found several. One, the Inflatable Unicorn Island, is in the Philippines. Another, named Unicorn World is mobile, like seasonal carnivals and travels to venues across the USA) and Path Of Positivity Challenge “Inspired by Literature “ (there are unicorn books for all ages. Some of the most popular for teens and adults are from the Harry Potter series.)

My final card for today's post is a sweet little feline, who found a festive place to tape a nap during the holidays! I created this card to enter into several challenges, including Christmas Craft Creation’s “Humour” (the inside sentiment is a favorite of mine from Beccy’s Place), and the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Group {BYSHC} Spring into Christmas 2023 Linky Party (I found this great group on FB a few years ago and have entered their linky parties whenever I can. They offer lots of wonderful prizes!)

Most of tomorrow I'll be presenting classes on the dangers of vaping nicotine and/or THC to a few hundred students (grades 7 to 12) in a nearby school.  I'm looking forward to it, but just noticed the time and need to get to bed. So I’ll post my Sheepski Designs DT card, and photos of two additional cards (am not sure why I always like to post three cards, but I do!) Tomorrow I'll be back to provide more details.

This month’s Sheeps ki Designs FB Challenge theme is Die Cuts/Punches and I had fun sending winter off until another year with this snowboardin’ snowman! (At least I hope this card serves that purpose, especially since snow is in the forecast again this weekend!!)  I created a pyramid base with swirly printed vellum, die-cut a mound of snowflakes, and had fun adding the little snow guy to the creation. Because I’m not sure when I’ll send this card, I decided not to add a sentiment yet. For now, he can happily swoosh in my craft closet all that he wants. PS- I did add sparkle to the card with my trustworthy Stickles. You can see glimpses of it on the lower left part of the card, and the flashes reflected on the tabletop. So fun!

     Several years ago I signed up for a weekly newsletter from Dover Publications. Since then I have appreciated the regular emails with links to a number of coloring books, each offering 4-5 pages that are available for a short time as free downloads. This friendly scene was one of the pages available in a recent newsletter. After copying the image, I used my Word program to reduce it in size to fit an A2 card. (Sign up for the sampler newsletter to start getting your own treasures!]

     For this card, I enlarge and printed off just the word “Faith” from the inside sentiment, carefully fussy cut around the letters, clipped off the "f"and set it aside. I added a minima amount of coloring, outlining the letter in black, then adding light shades to the flowers (mainly the ones inside of the letter), a bird and butterflies. I positioned then attached the partial sentiment “-aith” at the base of the F. Black photo corners, a scrap of floral patterned paper and a bit of bling finished off the card that is sure to bring encouragement to the friend who will be receiving it!

I’ve been a DT member for the challenge at QKR Stampede since July 2019. However, this will be my last DT creation for a time since the sponsor, StampOnIt has been sold. The new owners are working to get the QKR Stampede, Eureka, and other stamp lines transferred to the new site. The next card was made using one of the first wood mount stamps that I ever purchased back in the late 90s. I was sad to see the company close its doors a short time later as they were one of the quality stamp lines at that time, always providing clean and detailed images. I colored the image with watercolor markers, but they looked muddy on the kraft-brown cardstock. So… pulled out a silver marker from my stash, plus a set of gel pens I’d recently received as a gift, and they helped to bring the image to life.
