Colors of Fall

I’ve always loved the floral images offered by Power Poppy, so appreciated their blogs World Cardmaking Day Challenge that encouraged us to create a card with fall in mind, uses a sentiment of gratitude AND uses a Power Poppy stamp! I knew just which of their stamps I would use- Autumns Opulence!
I used a digital stamp, printing it on vellum, coloring from the backside with shades of fall using my Spectrum Noir markers. I then added highlights on the top of the vellum with a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. The sentiments are both freebies from Decosses Dynamite Doodles (I cut the vellum that is below the front sentiment and used it to add some color to the middle of the card. Didn’t want to cover up all that opulence!)

The current challenge at Di’s Digital Stamps is to “Include a Pumpkin.” I looked through my Di’s Digi collection and pulled out an adorable image named “Doodle House 1” and set out to make it festive for Halloween. I colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen, fussy-cut and attached it to a starry sky background. To meet the challenge requirements I added a few hand-drawn and colored pumpkins and set them beside two of the doors. I drew spiderwebs with a white gel pen on a few of the door frames and added torn vellum clouds over the moon to provide a bit of a spooky mood! (The  close-up pic shows the pumpkins and spider web details.) The moon is from a Di’s Digi image named Love You To The Moon and Back (Which is now on sale for just $2!) I also lightly sponged white craft ink around the moon to add a bit more of a hazy feeling to the scene.
The pumpkins on the inside of the card are from a Cute As A Button Digi named "Thankful."

Since I have two sisters, and we loved to dress up when we were little, I love this sweet digi from All Dressed Up named “Three Little Party Girls.”  For this card I just used one of the little cuties, creating a "shades of orange" card that I could enter into a few other challenges (Double D’s Orange and White Challenge and Outlawz Tuesday Monochromatic Color Challenge) The sentiment on the front of the card is computer generated. I cannot locate the inside sentiment in my digi files right now. (I currently have nearly 500 folders that contain nearly 7000 digis… so sometimes the individual sentiments aren’t easy to locate. I try to print the source next to them when I print them off… but forgot to do that this time. Sorry!)

Fall and Winter

Hello! It’s the first Thursday of the month, so time for a new challenge at Imagine That Digi Stamps. For my DT card, I used a digi from two Imagine That sets: Lorie's Mocha for all Seasons and Coffee Sentiments.  The sweet image is colored with Spectrum Noir Coloring System alcohol markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. Patterned papers and some wooden leaf cutouts that I picked up at Hobby Lobby decorate the festive card.
One added note- The designer/owner of Imagine That, Kris Breach, provides her DTs with a coupon code that allows any friends a discount on their next digi order. If you stop by the shop I know that you'll find lots of digis you'll want to add to your collection. Then, make sure to enter your card into this months challenge with an "Anything Goes" theme for a chance to win a $12 coupon to the Imagine That Digistamp shop, or a Top 3 award which includes 2 free digi sets of your choice and an invite to be our Guest Designer in the next challenge!  You can find the full rules HERE.

The current challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters is named “Friendship is the Greatest Gift” and requires the word friend to be featured on the card. I’ve always loved this sweet digi set from Beccy’s Place named “New Friends” so used the image, plus two sentiments on my colorful winter card. The image is colored with Spectrum Noir Coloring System alcohol markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. The snowflakes are made with a Lawn Fawn die set.

My final card for this post features the same freebie from a Dearie Dolls card that I posted yesterday. Once again, I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Coloring System alcohol markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen.  However, for this card, I also printed the image on vellum, and attached it atop the colored image. The result is a beautiful muted scene. A silver star sticker adds a bit of bling to the front of the card, and to the inside sentiment. (I’m not sure the source of the inside sentiment. I found it in my stash and can’t locate it in my digi, clear or wood-mount stamps. It might be upcycled from an old card? If anyone recognizes it’s source… please let me know!)

Mid-week fun

It's Wednesday! So time for another challenge at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog where challenges are always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded from one or more sponsors.  Stop by the blog to check it out! The sponsor this week is All Dressed Up and I used a digi named "Love to Shop." I used a simplified Spotlight Technique. Instead of printing off two copies of the image, I printed just one. I then used a die to cut the circle out of the image and used a slightly larger circle die to cut one from black cardstock. After coloring the sections inside of the circle with Spectrum Noir markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen, I layered it back on the card atop the black circle. I did print an extra copy of the sentiment, which I made into a small tag.

I love these two owls from a Beccy’s Place digi set named “You’re a Hoot” and they even have names! Ophelia, on the card front, is so sweet while Augusta, on the inside, is the king of grumpy! I colored them with Spectrum Noir Coloring System alcohol markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. The sentiments are computer-generated. (Oh, and the yummy cupcake behind the vellum is from a Beccy's Place digi set named "Celebrations.")

The inside sentiment is upcycled from an old Christmas card.
